Only players with surnames beginning with T, D, and E choose to play for us. Where are the S's. I want the Swans, Selwoods, Shiels, Savages, Stakers . . ..So how are the doomsayers going to turn this around with Thomas, Docherty and Everitt wanting to come to Carlton..........but no-one wants to come to us.
I'm sure there's a way but I just can't think of one
I really hope that Laidler can remain in the game. Can't believe that he's fallen off the radar so much.
Everitt I'm pretty lukewarm on. Not sure what his role may be. Third club by 24 is not great signs. But hey, if we're not coughing up much, let's see what the club has in mind for him. He was a first rounder (there must be something there) and he's got really good size.

I like the Everitt pick-up. I believe it is the kind of player that would suit Mick's plan. Can play 2nd/3rd tall back, 2nd/3rd tall forward and even up the ground.
It will give us more flexibility to change he and Hendo around to suit the situation. He is the kind of player that will allow for a Waite/Hendo combo in the forward line.
Whilst Watson is the better defender, Everitt is the more versatile and hence giving us that option to pick the team to suit the opposition. For cheap, we are making a really good decision here.

McKay said we would play him forward. If Everitt comes to us, of course we'll all back him in.
But not sure if it's a good move.
If he plays in defence: Jamison and Watson are ahead of him, and he'd really be fighting with Mciness/White/Laidler?/Duigan for that third tall spot.
Yeh, it's a good, solid, positive off-season. Thomas and Docherty's footskills marks a definite directional shift, you'd think. Everitt I'm pretty lukewarm on. Not sure what his role may be. No players that are genuine KP want to play for us...So how are the doomsayers going to turn this around with Thomas, Docherty and Everitt wanting to come to Carlton..........but no-one wants to come to us.

Even if gws start to lose players, they will get good draft picks for them. They are certainties to win a flag in the next 5 years.
Freeman would be a good fit if he gets through.Sweeping mid?!
A midfielder that hangs back off the contest and sets up the play? hmmmmmmmm
McKay said we would play him forward.
Getting Everitt would complete an excellent trade period for us. Mick may have designs on turning him into a key defender (given his size and athleticism) to release Henderson as the key forward.

What are your thoughts on Dunstan RK? And where do you think he'll go?Freeman would be a good fit if he gets through.
Hartung and Acres might fit this description. Would love a taller mid like Acres. I can see the need for a gutrunner and rover like Hartung after getting Thomas and Docherty. Endurance will be important with the interchange cap and sub rule.
We have muscle in Bell, Robinson, Curnow, Cachia and Graham. Might get another grunt with 32.
I know a guy who's family are heavily involved with the doggies. He got to sit in the box a couple of times.
He told me once (a couple of years ago) that about halfway through everitts first game rocket took his headset off, smashed it on the ground and said "it's official! We have just drafted the biggest ******* to ever play AF!!!.."
Guess Sugar doesn't fit the Bloods legacy as the son of a former South Melbourne player. As is the predictable pattern of these things I'm warming to Everitt. He's had a deceptively solid year and whilst we knew he was mobile he's plenty quick too. Don't like the idea of playing him forward though...looks a natural off the HBF
A lot of mock disgust at the idea if trading him for Lucas on the Sydney board.
