North need to stop the poor performances they produce at times before finals.

They have already beaten top 4 teams, so yes, they are a chance for top 4, though fairly remote as the other top 4 contenders are either very good or good an easier fixture coming up

Too inconsistent for either imo. Their best is top 6 for sure, but their worst is bottom 8 and they bring that out too often.

Cushy draw should see them knocking on the top 4 but don't have the talent to do it. Will finish 5/6 and get knocked out first round of finals.

Short answer is yes they could finish top 4 with this draw.
Long answer is no they aren't a flag threat.

Lacking 1 genuine strong tall at both ends. Lacking a genuine leader with the combination of hardness, consistency and footskill.

Goldstein showed an unusual level of intensity last night but is generally too timid. Gibson, greenwood, Anthony, swallow, all have VFL disposal.
Too reliant on Harvey, who is a champion but icing on the cake come pressure finals.

Wells the same.

Thomas hasn't a particular role and easily unsettles the whole group. The Thomas non specific role is going to burn the side when it matters, particularly as he's an overachiever in the Gibson mould. If the side can rid itself of the Thomas curse where he inspires the opposition and turns the umpires against the side, it will go a long way.

Simply not enough complete footballers to win a flag. Glaring weaknesses whether physical, mental or talent wise throughout. When they click they are great.
Big pressure football and they'll fold at the knees, much like their captain and leading goal scorer do many times a game.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them push for top 4 however can't see them getting to a grand final. Next year they are probably going to go all out for a flag seeing as Petrie is rapidly declining and Daw/Tarrant aren't any good.

Yep, still 3 years away.

Yep too many overachievers, not enough soldiers. Scott wastes too much time protecting the mental fragility of his pets to achieve something as difficult as a flag. Problem is, in keeping the overachievers heads up, the talent isn't coming in. Need a new captain, get rid of Thomas, Gibson, wright, Daw.

The Petrie retirement will throw a spanner in the works. If he's going to play mr nice guy football, he may as well retire this year.

If Goldstein, bastinac can't deliver intensity regularly, might as well look to trade them.

Getting a franchise club key forward and harder ruckman should be a priority along with a reliable crumber to replace Thomas. A key backman is a pipe dream at north so may as well get used to dopey Hansen, injured Grima and short arse Thompson.

Roos have a very poor record vs Adelaide in Adelaide and the Lions at the Gabba.

They'll make the 8, probably finish 7th, and fluke an Elimination final win if their lucky.

A half decent team would have put them away in the third quarter, they were lucky to be playing the competition basket case.

Their best is excellent, but nobody knows when that side will show up, or for how much of a game. Against the top teams in September, that won't cut it.
