It's amazing me that posters can't justify the difference between squibs like Petterd and Grigg who offer nothing to players like ROK and Sewell who have each been best or close to best in big games played and are leaders of clubs that we can only envy.

Our list is devoid of leaders. On field we have one guy in Cotchin who is learning the caper that can lead. The rest, wouldn't know the word. We have players who when the going gets tough, turn to sand.

Other clubs know you put pressure on us, you mentally get us, we crumble.

There is only a couple of ways to fix it and it needs to be done simultaneously. You can't just draft kids who have excellent leadership abilities and expect it to change. You still need to surround these kids with experienced leaders who know what it takes to be the best.

We have no one on our list who knows what it takes. We have a bunch of squibs that collect their pay check and cruise through the season. No one demands more. That's the major issue.

Bringing in absolutely champions, even for one or two years would give the club and other players at our club a step up and go towards fixing the culture. The demand on training and preparing would rise. The expectation in each others performance would rise.

We are in an abyss right now. We can recruit more kids but coming into our culture what's the point? They won't be given the best opportunity to be the best. Because what's expected isn't what other clubs expect.

We need to not only find leaders in the on field like Sewell and O'Keefe, but surround the players with coaches that also demand the best.

Right now, we are a mediocre club with a mediocre mindset and mediocre culture.
This needs to change.

More important would be a experienced coaching panel who could adapt to changes during game day

I'm not against bringing in ROK or Sewell on the cheap, but denigrating Petterd as a squib to suit your argument loses you credibility. The bloke's as tough as they come.

Who, real grunt inside work is something that players have when they hit the system. The problem is most top midfielders coming up in the TAC are so used to getting the ball and having time to do their thing. They don't know about two way running or fighting over contested ball after contested ball. Viney for instance natural ball winner since the get go. Miles showed that last night, comes in game one off the Rookie list and destroys all others in clearance inside work.

That's not to say Vlaustin, Conca, Ellis etc don't go when it's their turn (unlike some), because they do and I won't hear anyone say otherwise. But it's more than that. It's about putting your body on the line to not just hunt the ball, however also position yourself to give your elite kickers a chance to break tags and find space out of the packs. Cotchin has not been the same for many reason since two season ago, one of them is a bloke by the name of Shane Tuck is not next to him at bounce ups. Players can create space through speed and instinct, however it's a lot easier when their opponent has to go through a stocky bastard who just planted their shoulder into them.

For all the heat McCartney is getting over at the Bulldogs, have a look how his side position up at stoppages. Not the head less chook follow ball loose opposition, loose clearance like they have at Richmond.

Possible, however again just because you are called a midfielder, it doesn't mean you can play every midfield role. Even a pure outside player like Grigg can be an asset, as long as he has other types around him. Put a fit Deledio in a Swans or Hawks jumper (and not because of their star players, because of their player types) and that dude would be AA every year.

I have taken a step back and have looked into the Matrix and its all come together dudes. The plan just jumped out at me and I am now enlightened and have been instructed by the gods to spread the word to all tigerheads...its goes something like this. The new game plan was put in place at the start of the year, so we didnt use up our fitness at the beginnig of the year so we could be ready for when we played the tankers in the finals. We didnt want to watch our fortunes fade away again, as they did last year. We didnt expect the tankers to turn into a rabble and once that happened we lost the plot, we didnt have a handle on who we were going to play in finals and we then opted to piss the year up against the wall, give everyone a free ride for a year and get ready for 2015, so the 100 thousand members could savor the 1 GF. The new game plan was geared with that in mind..why go in and get the ball and risk head or shin, when we could sell this zone shit and have players waltzing around in zones with no one there, while their drirect opponents ran to where the ****ing ball was to get it. We thought if they got it first they would kick it to us, because we were waiting in the zones. So dont sweat it dudes this year is all about being put out to the agistment paddock(zone) in readiness for 2015. Oh and yeah we are going to go out and buy ourselves a star just so we show you we mean business.

2. Do it in a manner whereby they don't know you have shopped them around , so that they aren't offended if a suitor isn't found ?
