I would love to see Grigg Houli and Ellis coached by Roos or Lyon. It would be intriguing to see if they would survive or thrive. I'm being serious guysPossible, however again just because you are called a midfielder, it doesn't mean you can play every midfield role. Even a pure outside player like Grigg can be an asset, as long as he has other types around him. Put a fit Deledio in a Swans or Hawks jumper (and not because of their star players, because of their player types) and that dude would be AA every year.

its all good dude, the plan has always been to promote to the rest of the comp players who are not going to be around and keep the real jets away from prying eyes and have them develop their unique skills in the 2s. Once they have reached their prime, we lift the cup and everyone will be thinking how did that happen. Now keep it quiet though. I have devulged classified info so promise me you wont pass it on to your brains trust. If you do, then make them promise you that they wont pass it on the rest of the comp, because it could be the x-factor that propels you into the stratosphere of greatness.
I'd be wrapped to see the first two coached by roos, lyon, Cameron, Scott x 2, buckley, simpson, McKenna, sanderson, hinkley, malthouse, McCartney, Longmire, Clarkson, Richardson, leppitsch or Thompson.I would love to see Grigg Houli and Ellis coached by Roos or Lyon. If we are going to be throwing cash around I am going to stake my claim and say we need to throw it at a leader from a successful club. We have good players but we can't keep looking for players who have come from clubs that have no winning culture. Our recruits have been part of Mid tier sides or bottom rung sides. I really wanted Chapman (I hate the bald headed prick though) because he could have rightly gone to the tigers and (i hope) talked up about the winning Culture that was created at Geelong.

You're missing the point though, people are complaining about playing the likes of Houli Grigg Thomas Petterd et al ahead of the kids, when asked who we would play the likes of Sewell and O'Keefe ahead of the answers were Grigg Houli Petterd Thomas et al. So the answer is to replace the old recycled 'hacks' with older recycled players in the hope that they can add something to the development of the leadership group. Along the way they will still stopping kids from being played. It won't. But we will still have plenty of early draft picks to hopefully fix this problem.
**** me it's like when reading our suggestions some posters just automatically think that's it this is all we want. We want old premiership players and bring them to the club at all costs. Don't play anymore young kids and use our 1st round for Sewell and 2nd round for Okeefe.
We can still fix our gaping holes in our list through the draft.
Both were and still are better players than the ones you named. Quality over quantity. No one has criticized the concept of picking up mature-agers. It's all been about the sheer quantity of them and to a lesser extent the quality. It's why I'd take O'Keefe. He actually fits our recruiting mantra. He's an elite kick and a contested beast. Sewell not so much. Upgrade on Thomas? Definitely. Worth a list spot? probably not. You're missing the point though, people are complaining about playing the likes of Houli Grigg Thomas Petterd et al ahead of the kids, when asked who we would play the likes of Sewell and O'Keefe ahead of the answers were Grigg Houli Petterd Thomas et al. That's the reason why I don't want to add them, not because they can't add anything but because we gain nothing from playing them. You can gain the same benefit through having them as development coaches, where they can work with the players on what it took to be successful, they can play with the kids in the VFL side if they so desire and work with our young kids in game situations to help them develop and understand what it takes to be successful, but to put them on the senior list is a waste of time. We need to be moving away from relying on recycled types to make us competitive not bringing more in.
I see value in having them at the club, just not on the senior list. So rather than go around in circles I'm just going to agree to disagree. Both were and still are better players than the ones you named. Quality over quantity. My one proviso is that if we were to do it is that we cut some of those guys off the list. Quantity down, quality up.
Target the 21-24 year old talented but fringe players from other clubs.

I know. Seriously, absolute PR rubbish from the club yet again. Just STFU and do it, then talk about it.Great.
Now agents know we're desperate and will over-pay. Again.
Good work, Dan.
Talk about damage control funneling this shit out to the media today.
I recommend actually watching Nathan Fyfe play a game of football. He wears No.7 for Fremantle.Outside Mid with questionable kicking. Would need to do too much with a Richmond top on, great in good team, elite in a great team. Won't fix Richmond without help around him.
By playing Thomas dh is destroying Arnott's career at PR
I recommend you watch him play and not just form an opinion off what you hear about him in the media.I recommend actually watching Nathan Fyfe play a game of football. He wears No.7 for Fremantle.
Blair/Tigers having a crack at Hayden Crozier (Fremantle).
Dont tell me that's what Richardson means by going to market...Blair/Tigers having a crack at Hayden Crozier (Fremantle).
Interesting.
From memory he can take a hanger? How has he been going at AFL level I haven't been following him?
Yep, high leaping and extremely quick with some nice tricks from what I remember?
He was undersized, but I'm not sure how he's filled out or what his WAFL form has been like, don't think he's made that many senior appearances.
