Thats definitely elite for 20m.Shifter was saying that Pickett runs a 2.81 over 20m .
Is that pretty good or elite or average ?
I think we could if we tried. A couple of the crappy teams would need to win a few games though. We're sitting on 6 wins. With at least another home game against the Dees to come.
Surely we couldn't finish bottom 5 even if we tried?

He's just average. Faster than priddis but everyone is. I wouldn't describe mitchell as quick, he's an accumulator with great footy smarts.Pretty sure tom Mitchell has limited pace
Mitchell looks / sounds like a Priddis but with pace. Gets plenty of it but question marks over kicking efficiency. But with pace you can chase, run down opponents and apply defensive pressure as well as be a running link player by hand.
As for kicking how do you rate Dane Swans disposal by foot BTW? At times Swan kicks like a donkey but can be very effective.
I wouldn't be knocking mids who have the tools to get plenty of the ball, who have good pace and endurance. Especially with this modern style of every player moving up and down the field leaving half the field open and free.
He's pretty quick in the mind.Pretty sure tom Mitchell doesn't have pace
All & 3
Surely we're the the kind of situation now where first pick has to be partly needs based - ie, a mid. The possiblity of those former two going top 5 simply makes finishing low this year a must for me. Let's not repeat 2009.
u r kidding? mitchell doesn't look or sound AT ALL like Priddis. Priddis can get the ball and is inside. Mitchell doesn't get plenty of it, where do you get that from.
also Priddis is about a foot taller than him and Masten is about 5-10kgs heavier than. yes thats what you are dealing with.
dane swans disposal is waaaaay better than Mitchells. he also is good overhead, kicks goals and is a brownlow medalist. silly comparison.
i am sure our issue isn't running up and down the field. we lack some class in our midfield. kane mitchell doesn't provide anything we don't already have. he isn't some sort of line breaker. he just looks like it because he is a very tiny man.
in saying that, good on mitchell for working hard to get on an afl list. but he isn't anywhere near what wce need.
Mate, Tom Mitchell is who we're talking about. Far better player with far more upside.
It's probable that we could get 2 very talented mids in the draft this year, assuming we can get Waterman with a 2nd round pick.
If that's the case, who is another mid we are likely to target in the 1st round? Not sold on Pickett as our first pick tbh.
IMO Selwood for pick four should be enough. And a lot of clubs need a ruckman, Sinclar alone could go to port/Sydney for a first rounder. He would be a good get for us. Unlikely though, as most phantom drafts have Richmond or Melbourne picking him up. If we could trade an established player for a first rounder then we'd be sure to go after him.
Sinclair and Selwood for Melbourne's pick #4?
I don't think Watermans worth a first rounder. If someone bids for him, I'm not so sure we would take him. What Im worried about it those three clubs bidding on Waterman to make us use our first. Im really keen on getting another first rounder through trades as insurance.

It all depends on how much the other clubs want the player. Perhaps Selwood was a stretch, but I believe that port would swap there first rounder for Sinclar. The kid can play. He can ruck and kick goals, he's learnt from the best ruck duo in the comp. he should be playing afl. If port finish say 2nd, then what's pick 17 for a decent ruckman that can play forward.Very optimistic. You're asking Melbourne to trade away Petracca/one of the better talls in a tall-laden draft for Selwood. Sinclair won't go for a first rounder either.

It's fantastic if you can run that fast but utterly useless if you don't use it. Saw him jogging along the wing in the WA v VM match and I was saying to my son, if he motored to this player running past (because it was obvious that was who the ball was going to) he could stop him. Instead he jogs along and then motors once the player has the ball. Wow, he's fast, said my son. Fat lot of good it did him though because he let the player get too far ahead of him, was my response.Wow that's who I want then if Petracca or Bradshaw are gone by wce pick .
Most of those are not top 10 talents imo. I think we should just draft best available, whoever that ends up being on draft day. Even if its a tall. We will already be getting Waterman with a second so whilst we may want mids we will have two first round talents next year in Sheed and Waterman who could be pushing into our midfield meaning it wouldn't be crazy to take a tall.Assuming Petracca & Brayshaw are gone:
These from what I have read are all somewhat in the same range. Lever the most likely to go top 10.
- Jake Lever - 192cm KPD. Aggressive, pacy, uses it well. Midfield potential?
- Jarrod Pickett - 180cm outside mid.
- Corey Ellis - 185cm creative outside mid. (Described as Didak-like).
- Liam Duggan - 183cm classy half back/mid.
- Jordan De Goey - 187cm creative mid/fwd.
- Lachie Weller - 181cm inside/out mid - brother of Maverick
- Tom Lamb - 192cm athletic fwd/wing
- Connor Blakely - 187cm inside mid. (vanilla?)

I would be stoked with Brayshaw or Petracca but they are unlikely to be available. If we are set on a small of the above i think De Goey and Pickett would fill our needs the best.
Could maybe add goddard to that list too but there can always be surprises come draft day i guess and we are still quite a way out. Remember when everyone thought Grundy was almost a lock for top 3?Yeah I can agree with that.
Probably only Lever, Duggan and to a lesser extent Pickett from that list look like top ten selections at this point. I was merely rattling off names of midfielders. So much will change between now and the draft that getting a handle on the top 10 this early is impossible.
You could probably only lock in...
Wright
McCartin
Durdin
Brayshaw
Petracca

Pickett and Lever are wildcards imo. I reckon a lot of recruiters could look at them as risks, It wouldn't surprise me too see them drop to 15-20 or just as easily be gone by our pick.
