That timing issue is the pits. Players milling around, waiting to run through the banner, supporters waiting to sing along ... waiting ... waiting ... waiting. It's ridiculous!

ETA: I LOVED the fireworks! Should have them at every night game.
I think I've heard music mixed in so it flows right in to the next song before..
Amazingly difficult thing it seems to be for them at AO..

I blame Puff Triggy and MC Chappy..

I think a twin cassette player could get that intro more synced up.

They should play an effect when the other song cuts off, like the sound of a DJ stopping a record, or someone shutting the power down. Then I don't know a couple second intro, it might be an explosion, or like a slow drum or heart beat or something (just thinking out loud haha) that quickly speeds up to match the tempo of the song then straight into "we're the pride of South Australia".

Not sure there are any cassette players in use up there in 2014.. :p

Did you hear/know why some didn't put on the shirts??

Watching on TV it looks like about one in four didn't put them on, was there any comments why they didn't put them on? Did they want to take them home unused, were they too small, would it interfere with their knitting needles?

When Port did the t-shirts there were a bunch of different sizes across all the seats. We got there early and I had a small on my seat which was never going to fit. So I swapped it with a 2xl I found nearby. If I got there late I would have given the shirt to my nephew but wouldn't have been able to wear it myself that night.

The song HAS to be playing before they start to run through the banner. Who is in charge of that ?

It's been mentioned a few times that it's outside the control of the club...

I've been to a couple of Port home games this year and they seem to have a similar issue, the last one I was at the players just ran through the banner anyway and the Port song started playing when they were running through the centre circle...

The 'R' word has more than one meaning. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. My feeling is he used the word as a means of saying delayed rather than a nasty reference to someone with a physical or mental disability.

I'd guess the opposite - I don't recall the last time I heard someone use the word for its correct meaning.

Which is why I think BT is a moron, but the reaction is excessive.

The reaction is excessive but media personalities need to understand that they should try and not put themselves in vulnerable situations. The political correctness landscape is at its worst at the moment.

The reaction to BT was not excessive, his apology was a hollow not-apology and the "punishment" was as soft as expected. Things never change because people are allowed to continue to get away with it.

I believe Razor Ray was using the word '******ed' in the correct sense, and not the offensive one

I don't see how anyone could think Chamberlain was using the 'r' word in any way but the derogatory term... Not that I think anything should really come of it because I don't think the umps should be mic'ed up in the first place - the last thing he should be having to think about out on the footy field is whether or not the TV channel is picking up what he is saying to the players...

BT is an idiot and a throwback - Anyone who just thinks the reaction is 'PC going to far' is as much of an idiot at BT - It's about common decency and politeness in society... the he was "just having a laugh" crew should grow up and realise that taking the piss out of your mates in your own, immature social circle is completely different to a television broadcast
