Dude - where exactly has the actual timings/schedule of the upcoming finals series been published? Or are you simply making assumptions, albeit assumptions based on past corrupt behaviour by the AFL?It's the principle. We make the GF and it's a 6.5 day break vs 7.5.

If it's a Sydney Vs Freo Qualifying Final next week, will that be at Homebush or SCG???

Where are people getting the info about the days/dates of the individual finals? Can someone post a link please? I can't find anything on the AFL site about it![]()
I think people are guessing. Given Sydney/Freo/Port play on Saturday, it is unlikely they will give them a 6 day break to play on Friday. For prelims, it is standard for the minor premier to be given the Friday prelim and an extra day off.

I think the one that's worse is ROK - announcing a lap of honour for him this morning when he hasn't even notified them of his intentions - he wasn't pushed, he was shoved
I feel for Ball if it's the case - not a glorious way to end a career and I would be appalled if someone like Sewell was treated like that. In saying that, some players ie. ROK and even goodes just don't know when it's time to call time
Except in 2012 ...![]()

I was wondering the same but then I was reading the HS on my lunch break and there's a very speculative piece in there about what the first week of the finals might look like. It vaguely referenced some AFL source but I didn't think it read as 100% set in stone.
I think it happens more than we realise. Often when they say it was mutual I think the club is often more keen for the retirement than the player is.
I must say ROK sounded very flat when interviewed on SEN yesterday. He kept saying the club had been great to him etc. etc. but he sounded mightily peed off to me.
On reading the sids board there seems to be mixed feelings about the whole episode - some say that he is another Buckley and that throughout the season has shown very little interest in being part of the squad if not named in the starting 18 as it's 'all about Ryan' and the fact that he got into a fight with Buddy very early in the piece, seems to have set the tone for the rest of the year. Others have said he is just too old and too slow.
Who knows - as we know it's a business these days and when it's time to be made redundant, then it's time whether you like it or not.
And I'll bet it's still working.Being made redundant doesn't mean it's all over. I was made redundant in Australia, "too old." However, moved here and worked a further 12 years.

Yep, if you want to see how to retire look at Crawf, didn't want all the attention, just happy to go out with his premiership medallion and the respect of his mates and the Hawks fans.Is anyone else over the whole retirement thing? Most of these guys will never be hall of famers, not even for their clubs. You want to retire, then retire. Save me the lap of honour and retirement parade.
didn't he announce that he'd go on, then on the same day decide to retire?Yep, if you want to see how to retire look at Crawf, didn't want all the attention, just happy to go out with his premiership medallion and the respect of his mates and the Hawks fans.
In 2012, we were cooked. This time around we are primed. $hitney have no idea what is coming!
Would we push a player like Ball out the door like Buckley appears to have done? Maybe we would if we had a wealth of experience staying and on the field, and we definitely WOULDN'T if the two players who were goig to take that role(McCaffer and Scharenberg) did acl injuries the week before. I dont get it? whats buckley thinking?
didn't he announce that he'd go on, then on the same day decide to retire?
We also have to take into account any late bookings the NRL might make.
I got roped into watching the ****ing Bronco's tonight and missed out on watching the Collingwood game live. Rugby is so ****ing boring.F**k the NRL.
Boring uninteresting game with more problems than Julian Assange.
Flame suit now on.
Even so, the Game was not decided in 2012 until the final 2 minutes....So those disgusting time concessions gifted to the Swans at our expense proved all the difference....Lets not equivocate over it!
Geez the Blues are doing as they please against the Bombers today!
Edit: The tide is turning it seems.
