We win that he most likely is still at the saints and still continued his form after that game.

I haven't watched the replay, but had Fyfe kicked those two goals in the first quarter it would have been some performance.

It was obvious he was sent down there early to solve the problem Freo had with a lack of tall forwards, and had Freo remained closer to Hawthorn in the first half he may have kept going down there to continue causing a problem.

Instead he misses, Hawthorn get out to a four goal lead and he has to keep things going in the midfield. Still played a great game but it could have been something else if he actually converted.

Seven goals and ten marks. A lot of talk about Dermott and Ablett in losing teams but this effort never rates a mention.

Clint Bizzells 80 metre barrell on the siren to win the game that missed the goal by a foot. Would of gone down as one of the great all time goals.

From a Hawthorn perspective Jarman and the Rat in that famous '94 elimination final against North. Went to extra time and Carey will long be remembered as the mighty hero who won it for them. Which is true of course. But we were absolutely carried by those two over the first four quarters.

Actually to put their performances into perspective, North were miles better than Hawthorn. They'd beaten us both times that year and absolutely flogged the living shit out of us by 20 goals early in the season.

Two mighty efforts that will always be glossed over.

THAT was the day the Premiership drought was meant to end and Lockett and Kelly get their Premiership medallions.

Nobody outside north remembers 21yo Ziebell's 30 possessions and 12 clearances when WC flogged us in 2012. He and Swallow we're about the only ones to put up any resistance at all. Had it been remotely competitive would have been seen as a real coming of age game.
