Not really. The top 5 picks are seen to been more of a pick for a need base this year. Saints are looking at it as though they can potentially sure up the key position posts in the one draft.

Much like our 2010 draft.

Jaksch can't even refuse given the Saints can nab him in PSD. It's all over if Saints say yes.

Unless Jaksch and his manager want to be dicks.

He can walk and they can keep pick 1

As is stands currently with Jaksch and a trade scenario, GWS have packaged Jaksch and pick 4 to the Saints for pick 1. Saints are yet to refuse that offer.

We are well behind the 8 ball.
Stk already said they wouldn't allow pick 1 to be allowed in a trade for Jaksch.

Hope this encourages Boyd to come to Carlton. If GWS get shifty on us, then there's more incentive for Boyd to screw GWS over.

"Carlton and the Western Bulldogs have had discussions about a potential trade involving Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney.

The clubs have spoken about a deal in which the Blues would secure out-of-contract Bulldogs forward Liam Jones, as well as Cooney and the Bulldogs' third-round pick, 45.

The Dogs are determined to move as high up the draft order as possible, and would receive Carlton's pick 28 in return."

Not really - KJ can say no. GWS won't let him walk for nothing - they'd rather him come to us for something.

Good point.

KJ and his boss have some bargaining power there.

Well he did go for Carlton as a Kid.

That's what they have said publicly estal, but I can promise you internally their stance isn't as strong. Again they are not completely ruling it out.

It goes on to say the deal could be complete scuttlebutt and our level of interest is unknown...

Strange article

We did fix Dale "no ankle" Thomas?

But seriously - I thought we weren't trading for anyone over 24?

I don't know how I feel about this. Doesn't sound right we get all that for 28 so Im calling BS. Would Cooney be involved in our next flag at his age? Don't need to be drafting in 29yos

We still need to be competitive.

"The extent of Carlton's interest in Cooney since the package deal was proposed was not clear on Tuesday night."

Quality journalism right there everyone.

at least they qualified it.

Doesn't that go against everything we have said so far. Why would we want a 29 year old Cooney?
It makes zero sense, I don't see that happening at all......better not.
