Not good to hear about Kennedy, but good to see Crisp up there.

READ THIS, this was last preseason finding-his-feet-after-surgeryThat's pretty disappointing re Kennedy. You can't play on ball for a full game with poor running power.

Not all players have to be good at time trials to play midfield, some players just lift and turn into a hard running athlete when you put a red ball in front of them and gut run the whole game so to me it's not everything but it's a solid bonus.
First real preseason for bk from having surgery on his legs last preseason to help blood flow etc.
Ive been a world championship level athlete champ, your a fence sitter. Ive been coached by the worlds best. you just think you know everything............... you don't get 30+ possies in the vfl with no preseason if you cant gut run. i said nothing about opposition so your just assuming things being silly, you gut run just on your self only. i guess you haven't played footy at high level or sport to do this before or had a blood flow condition witch bk has or had. garry jr doesn't win time trials and he seems to destroy teams when a ball is in-front of him turning him into a competitive beast who gut runs with power just like many players in the afl.In my experience this is plain crap. You are suggesting he will be able to gut run the opposition's best 22 players on the field when he can't gut run the bottom 20 players on our list.

That is an incredibly quick time for 2 ks. I'd love to know Steele's PB.Went to training this morning to watch the boys in the first session if the year. Some notes below.
Started out with a 2km time trial. Notes on the placings and some times below:
1st: Steele 5.54. Had a 60-70m lead the whole time.
2nd; Freeman 6.08. Also had a 60-70m lead from 3rd the whole time.
3rd: Mantiet 6.22. Fell straight into third from early on and held it. Was clear third for most of it, but got gobbled up towards the very end. Held off Varcoe in a sprint at the end.
4th: Varcoe 6.23.
5th: Pendles
6th: Crisp
2nd Last: Kennedy. Struggled the whole way. Was back with three ruckman for most of the run, made some pushes to get back to the running pack, but eventually taken over again in the last 200m. Biggest weakness of his game, and likely to see him not make it.
Last: Grundy 7.24. A long way back.
Maynard and Goodyear were in the top half, which doesn't say much for the rest of the list (as Hine himself said Maynard isn't good aerobically..)
Other notes:
Not really much else exciting to report on - most the drills were pretty small / tight with no real opportunity to shine. As everyone says, Freeman looked really sharp - a lot of energy, really nice skills (surprisingly) and just got busy all the time. Crisp looked pretty good a lot of the session as well.
Scharenberg just ran laps, Swanny just sprinted laps, Thomas and Young mostly just ran laps, Mason Cox just ran laps for the whole session (I think he had some injury in his hand). No signs of Marsh, Moore, De Goey.
Running isn't the only part of football... It's not like the other team is gonna pick the 22 that have the best time trials... Play him as a small forward we need that anyways, he clearly can perform at the level.. Looked the fittest to me agaisnt Gold Coast
oh yeh so did you see garry jr in first years at geelong run time trials when he couldnt get a game ???? where did he come ??? lol you have no idea.I am not sure what you mean by fence sitter. But then I am pretty confident you are also unsure of what you meant by it.
I don't profess to know everything but let us use what was said. You used GAJ to demonstrate that you do not need to be winning time trials to gut run with power.
This is not a rational counterpoint. Ben Ken is not GAJ and never will be. GAJ uses his natural attributes to perform at the level he does. He also does not run third last in time trials.
You will not find anybody that agrees with you that GAJ would be running third last in a time trial.
Pendles is probably the 2nd/3rd best player in competition but he ran 5th in the time trial.
Using the best player in the competition as an example is ridiculous.

are you slow, he hasnt had a preseason before, he has a blood flow condition he was overcoming. READ THIS, this was last preseason finding-his-feet-after-surgerySigh.
If fitness is not vital and Ben Ken does indeed have the capacity to gut run, then why didn't he gut run last year? He seemed to be struggling at some points much unlike other AFL players which are either fit or "gut run".

have i said that bk is going to be a star of the afl and a star midfielder???????? no so don't assume things.......... lots of players in afl cant run time trials but when a ball is on the field they turn it on................
Why?And it doesn't bode well for the rest of the group that first years like Maynard and Goodyear are able to finish in the top half.
I guess some people on here who keep bagging PK on here will have to eat there words witch you knowJust spoke to PK cousin he was at training and told me he ran another PB , taking off a couple of seconds ! They did more running after and he was their amongst them all and looked really fresh and fit ! To all you collingwood supporters you should be excited with PK fitness but more importantly his footy smarts as he is someone who can actually play and has natural ability. He reminds me of my favourite player from the cats Steve J - freakish ability !
thanks for the info and feel free to be a collingwood member when your ready to change over to the dark side
