Forget that you support geelong and step back abd look at the facts.
PD would know that they're a finals chance. And that all this conjecture traditionally hasn't been good for a sides fighting it out for a finals spot. He's also be more than aware that given the tragedy they've lived through , him resigning would be a massive boost to a group of people he loves.
And honestly does anyone really believe he hasn't thought about this decision? Sorry but he's known for 2 years this was coming. And the Crows have been trying to extend his contract for the best part of 2 years. Those that know paddy will tell you he's a VERY switched on kid, just like his dad john. They're savvy men. He knows exactly what he's doing.
The reality is that he legally can not come out and say anything except -
1. I'm staying
Or
2 I haven't decided anything else gets him de registered as an afl player.
Finally. For those wondering about a hawthorn or pies swoop.
His family are super tight. Mum works for frank costa. Anyone who thinks he wants to drive from Waverley to Moggs regularly is dreaming. That takes almost as long as flying Adelaide to Avalon and driving to Moggs.
Add in the people who actually know the family who are coming out saying " he's coming home"
I promise you guys - it's a done deal.
On other list changes I'm "informed on"
Motlop is gone.
S Selwood is a done deal - and if they can get danger as aFA as opposed to a trade - then Henderson will come. The only fear is if we have to tease it'll take motlop and a first rounder .
Just as a matter of interest, since 50 gazillion people on here and Australia-wide have made the same predictions as you about Dangerfield, Selwood, Motlop and Henderson, how will we know that your mail was correct if any of them do happen, or whether your penpals just got lucky with 50/50 guesses?
And if any of them turn out to be wrong, will you be arranging for a Mail Redirection Service?
Take out of this what you want Fred. I'm passing on what I'm privy to. I'm simply sharing cos I reckon it's exciting. Well be a genuine flag contender with those additions.

As is your right. I on the other hand am getting excited about a side that has a look to it like thisI think I'll wait and see on all of the (now) 50 gazillion Plus One predictions.![]()

Unfortunately I think the Phil Walsh tragedy will be the tipping point for Danger, and I reckon he'll stay with the crows. How bad would you feel if you simply walked out on a club just months after their head coach was unexpectedly murdered in the middle of the night. I know this scenario isn't that simple, but it would be hard for a man like Danger to walk away from his beloved club when it's people need him most. He would probably feel awful if he just left, and in a sense some would get the feeling that he is "running away from the crisis" and that he's abandoning his mates when they are grieving.
His trade depends on us having picks - and if Adelaide match we may not.Where's Hendo?
Sorry boss. He's gone.Needs more Motlop.
I know you do. I'm basing this one off a conversation I've had with a close family member. I don't want him gone- and I'm genuinely hoping Im wrong and that they ease his angst with a couple of key things - but as it stands at the minute he's shopping himself around. We'll see. I reckon you're wrong on this one.

Yeah good ins - I just threw that together - but u get the overall vibe. Our weakest spot at the minute is midfield. Add danger, s Selwood and another preseason into blitz caddy ad Guthrie and it becomes a huge strength.Well, for a start.
Guthrie for Enright.
Murdoch for Kelly.
Gregson on the ground, and Menzel won't get back I don't think.
Smedts to fit in on the bench.

The similarities with Boak are strong aren't they? Both surfcoast kids with very strong family ties pulling at them, both the biggest name and most crucial at the two South Australian clubs, both courted heavily by Geelong, both at clubs in crisis and hour of need, both delaying apparent 50-50 decisions until the very end. Both clubs suffering a tragic unexpected death of one of their own.... The difference of course being, Boak had just recommitted before the PA tragedy, whereas Dangerfield has to make the call afterwards.
Boak perhaps would have had greater sympathy for leaving (to return to his mother and sister who were without his father who had passed away). He stayed with his battling "basket-case" and became a hero, elevating his personal game, leading his young team, and helping to turn around their team and club fortunes.
Dangerfield, if he elected to stay, would become the second surfcoast-to-sa hero. Sticking by his club after the shocking death of their coach and helping to lead them to what he feels they can become.
Part of me thinks Danger would love to be the hero.
But he's also a strong-minded person who clealy can't be pressured into anything before time. And his love and closeness to his family and his home region pours out of him.
Boak's last minute act means Adelaide fans won't give up till the end. And Pies and Hawks etc fans wont give up hope either because for every 9 out of 10 speculation ticks, there will always be the hope of the Buddy-GWS-Blindside.
Yeah, I think they did us a favour by going with Tex.To me the difference was the Captaincy. When a team tells you they went you to be their captain, that you personify the club, it's hard to say no.
Ah yep, good call. I re-read your post - I misread it initially.No. Motlop and a first rounder would be for Danger If the crows match. Which means out ability to trade for Henderson is then severely limited.
