Say it's hostile, say whatever you want...

Do you think he possibly could have foreseen that he would be booed for the rest of his career?

Do you think Micky O would have thought he would be booed for the rest of his career after this? (Which everyone seemed to love at the time, might I add)

yes if goodes had no history of being disliked by the public then it's exactly like this.

but it's not. goodes war cry was the straw that broke the camels back (man i'm all over the metahpors tonight!)

Ooh, look at someone being clever by complimenting Goodes and then suggesting he is racist. This would be the Andrew Bolt line that ignores history and suggests that there's no reason to benefit a people who were decimated by European settlement and have lived on this land most of us proclaim to love for at least 200 times longer than Europeans have lived here.

If you boo alongside racist booing, you are supporting them. Would you stay standing in a protest if a bunch of people come behind you and put up a sign calling for the opposite of what you believe in?

Who ****ing said not to benefit them a people? Bloody oath benefit them. In the past I spent at least 40 hours every year helping my local foot club raise money for Clontarf Foundation you twit so I know how much it helps these kids. I was saying is that we need it for other disadvantaged kids AS WELL.

And read my previous posts that go way back, I hate booing full stop, so don't go playing that on me.

If you genuinely think that Goodes could have truthfully foreseen the reaction the war dance received, I guess we're going to have to respectfully agree to disagree.

I don't think we'll finish 2 & Sydney 3 (or 1 & Sydney 4 ) to ensure we play them here again, and the point might be moot if Goodes retires anyway. We boo anyone and everyone but until last Sunday I didn't have an issue with it. I don't think they should stop, nor do I do think it should stop, because it's one of the main ways a crowd likes to put off a set shot at goal, express disapproval of an alleged dirty act or unwarranted opposition free kick etc. If a player becomes mentally affected though and reconsidering his future in the game, and some of the indigenous community and others in Australia are critical and alleging racist undertones - it's time to stop for that player.
Them stop playing or your mob to stop vilifying?

simple fact is, that if you continue to boo him, call out to him at games, your clearly have latent, or obvious racist tendencies. It's run it's course, and the wider football community is with Adam. The one good thing to come out of all of this, is it has open a discourse on the issue, and has probably opened a few peoples eyes to a few things. Unfortunately, there will still be nuffies saying they have a right to boo, ok, but I have a right to call you out on it every time you do it, because it obviously nothing to do with his status as an AFL player any more.

Fascism isn't all bad?

I suppose the smiley face absolves the fascism.

You may be thought police, but as long as you smile while doing it all is Ok.

Well, in theory, it's not bad if you're the one in charge...

Or if your agenda is being pushed...

Or rules that you'd support are being imposed, which is what you are suggesting, so no, it's not all bad.

So because he won't do it to someone he identifies with, you vilify him?

The average IQ on this board is beginning to resemble that of you average moron.

I was at the game and didn't boo him, but i can understand why people would boo him. The fact that it throws him off his game is reason enough, he was woeful against West Coast.

When I learn about indigenous culture I turn to sources a bit closer to the issues at hand than the well paid AFL footballer living in the heart of Sydney. I watch footy because I love the game, not to be educated about race issues.

Why would we boo Josh Gibson? Hasn't done anything of note to previous West Coast players. If he snipes Jack Darling then he'll cop it - same for any other player. He might get it for the rest of the game depending on the severity of it. If he is shooting for goal (somehow), he'll get booed - same for any other player - but it won't be for the rest of the game. I don't think we've booed players that haven't had history with our club previously.

And I like to think after this whole debacle, that the West Coast fans by and large would tone it down anyway - certainly at lower levels than what Goodes copped on Sunday.

I have tickets to the game as a Hawks Gold Member but I don't like Domain as its shit to watch footy so I don't often go, but I would definately go to this match but heading overseas :( So much to see, Eagles playing great footy, see the Eagles defensive set up work live which you miss on TV, watch my cousin Tom Barrass, Boogate, Hawks playing for a top 2 spot if we beat Tiges..... So much to like about.... bugger it, might have to change some meetings and fly out later.
Your mob will boo. Wont be able to help them selves

You understand the principle of keeping things in perspective, don't you?

You realize it was a war cry in the direction of a pocket of supporters, yeah?

You keep making it sound like Goodes committed some sort of atrocity.

There's only one reason Mickey O needs to boo-d, and it ain't the colour of his skin or the photo above...

If you beat the tiges? Pfft.

Now we have a group of Swans fans threatening to throw eggs at opposition supporters.

How classy is that.

Couldn't just do something like cheer Goodes as loud as possible to drown out the boos, which most likely would have gotten most opposition fans joining in as well, which IMO would be the best thing that would put a stop to this.

No now they want to assualt opposition fans, way to make the situation worse.

I'D like to ask a serious question....Why are otherwise sane & reasonable people on Big Footy cow-towing to this politically correct bullshit?

Did they also receive a directive from the AFL?

Freedom of speech means freedom of speech....This is a democracy & if people wish to boo as a form of protest then that's their right.

If Goodsey can't deal with it, then he can either retire (Hooray the farce is over) or apologize....Pretty simple.
