Fair call, just found the article on line and said the property was bought last year. Makes the rumour he told phil last year this was his last more plausible.

Barrett is 1 of numerous footy supposed "journalists" who basically just make shyte up to appear to know stuff in the industry, without any regard for being an investigative journalist. Also, refer to Ralph mouth & Jay z as typical examples.

Goddard called him out on 360 about this exact topic. Said all Barrett had to do was ring him, and they know each other well from working on The Footy Show, so it wouldn't have been be hard at all. Called it "crap" and "frustrating".

Lets be honest here. This new era of "footy journo's" are no better than say, Big Brother contestants. They're simply feeding their own fame. Famous because they're mates with ex-players who are now on lucrative TV and radio deals.

Most of the "mail" is just as likely to have come from reading sites like BigFooty or even Facebook, or via a conversation with their Fox Footy/Triple M "mate" who heard from someone at their club about something. Zero 'journalism' involved, as well as zero ownership.

I take anything these people say with a microscopic pinch of salt, if that.

What is inevitable on this board is that people need a place to interact and vent and be funny. Having that outlet in one thread we, the mods, prefer to give it some head and not be as strict on off topic stuff. Just makes other threads cleaner and easier to manage whilst maintaining a place for ongoing interaction on a topic even when that topic is a little flat.

We're always open minded to better suggestions.

People who use the board less frequently may find this 'frustrating' as they only want to seen meaningful content. But we're not just about content - we're a community and the community needs a place to just be social with each other.

When something happens this thread will be on-topic like every other thread - bank it.

I don't think they "make stuff up" - but I reckon they trawl these types of sites and run with whatever grabs their fancy.
