The other thing is that for all the Victorian rhetoric about having to win finals in Melbourne it is impossible this year to win a flag without winning a final in either Perth or Sydney

Say Adelaide win and Hawthorn lose this week.
Then Adelaide will play Hawthorn at the G next week.
If Sydney also beat Fremantle and Adelaide beat Hawthorn then Adelaide can avoid playing at Subiaco, because they will play in Sydney.
Similarly all the teams playing in the elimination finals this week can foreseeably (though not likely) avoid a WA final.
