You're assuming we didn't make offers earlier, quite possibly along the lines of what you've suggested. It's been suggested a few times now that it takes two to tango. How do you know, with the apparent certainty that you have, that any hold up was a club decision?

I'm just putting down some facts about two young forwards, who play for NMFC. To be quite honest with you, I am not assuming anything at all.

If the assumption that we didnt make this offer earlier in the year or last year, and that was true, then my stance still stands (this bad list management).

If the assumption is that we made an offer and it was refused last year and the start of this year, again, I say this is bad list management to not be able to take a 10 game player and make a deal less than 4 years with them, during the last year of said players contract.

I'm so happy we have him, but we really need to understand how we can better assess the talent at our football club.

Brown wood? Am I on the right website?

:stern look:

The horse duck duo might have a thing to say about most natural forward line duo too. Jisse may have something to say about horse duck too...
Don't encourage him BS ;)

And if he refused, that's bad list management? Even if you say it is, that's opinion, not fact.

You can't force people to sign a deal. What if he'd asked for more than we were prepared to give in light of what he'd done to that point? What if we said do x, y and z and then we will? What if he's met expectations in keeping with what he'd asked for?

If he's as good as the carping suggests, we should be happy with a four year deal.

No you cant force people to sign, but you can offer them something that they will take. Yes, its my opinion that its bad list management to not be able to find a deal that is under 4 years for a player who had 10 games to his name and playing in the VFL.

I'm happy we have kept him, and that they worked out a deal. I really hope is performances skyrocket next year.

Congrats Mason and well done to the club.

And thank you to a couple of posters who seem to have some inside info which kept me quietly confident on Mason staying with us.

And his manager might have advised him to not sign and wait it out, knowing he had potential to earn X and we offered Y.

The only facts are that now he has a 4 year contract, and that the contract negotiations included other teams bidding for him.

Somehow I'm getting the feeling like this continuation of this conversation isn't desirable.

SO WOHOO, we got him, hooray.

end of transmission

Black has never shown the contested marking ability of Mase. I'm hoping that's the one of many differences as his career unfolds.
We are due for a gun forward. I'm gonna back him in to be that man.
Myth. Wood averages half a contested mark a game more than Black. Thats with black playing an entire season with a bung shoulder unable to mark a ball.

So much better.

Just calm down people. Mason will likely be in the Forward line for the next ten years, but the same people talking him up will be the same ones calling for his neck if he has a down year.
