Past #3: Jed Anderson - delisted end '22 - 89 NMFC games - go well Jed

In the words of Dean Laidley, 'Yeah, nah'.

... Our recruiting staff were 'baited by a highlights package'. Do you stand by that one?

On the argument about him not being good enough at the Hawks and us taking a reject. How did that work out with the Swans and Kennedy? mcglyn? And the many other players they've built a team around from elsewhere.

No tanty at all. All though I can understand the shock you might get with a well reasoned argument backed up by quotes, facts and references. Given the lack of actual info you provide - it must be very foreign concept.
King of the road on fire (against someone I have blocked - may need to take a peek to fully enjoy this exchange).

Edit: Yes. I see. Lol.

These prove my simplistic take on the reaming Hawthorn gave North
PART 1 : He wasn't good enough for Hawthorn,if the Hawks thought he could play a role at the club he would still be there

Part 2 :Also that they shopped him around and North were prepared to take the worst reaming, obviously the other seven clubs are smarter than North
The rest of your wall of text reads like a tanty

Part 1. False. He was offered a 2 year contract extension with Hawthorn but asked to be traded because he didn't see himself getting as much game time because of the like of Bruest and Cyril. The hawks wanted to keep him but understood that he may seek a trade to get more game time.

Part 2. They didn't shop him around. Jed indicated that he either wanted to go back to Western Australia to the eagles or he wanted to come to North. West Coast didn't have the picks to satisfy a trade because of their Redden/Jetta trades.

Yet 8 clubs were interested
If Hawthorn weren't shopping Jed around how did the know Jed was on the block?
At least the other clubs saw the reality of what Anderson was worth

BTW so happy I no longer have any emotional investment in the club and can see issues hurting the club

You ever have interest in something that wasn't advertised as for sale?

Because player managers are always trying to find good deals for their clients. Often mangers are talking to club list managers well in advance to them even being out of contract. Freo don't think Fyfe is leaving but I'm sure Fyfe's manager is out there now trying to see what sort of $$$ he could get for his client.

8 clubs were interested. It doesn't mean that they were a viable option to trade with. If Anderson didn't want to go anywhere other than North or West Coast then he isn't going to go to those clubs. For all we know, Brisbane could have offered a top 12 pick. But if Anderson didn't want to go there that offer wouldnt see the light of day. So your thoughts of "other clubs saw the reality of what he was worth" is a load of tripe because you have no idea what another club would have offered had Jed chosen them as a viable option to play at.

I'm not prepared to write him off yet.

Yes since he has come back he has been rubbish, but let's see if he can have a good preseason and bounce back.

Just looks like a players whose confidence is shot. I actually think we are doing a disservice by playing him at the moment.

The Brad Scott way.

Thought he looked a lot more lively playing midfield/wing in the first quarter. I'm assuming that had a lot to do with the return of Higgo. Seems to get lost in the forward line. Still lots to work with, looking forward to him getting a full pre-season and some continuity next year and beyond.

I don't think we can write him off just yet.

Has ability, just devoid of confidence at the moment. I'm not sure he has full trust in his hamstrings at the moment either?

Looked a lot better last night, he got screwed over a couple of times being on the end of chains where we over possessed by hand and we were just setting whoever ended up on the end of it to fail.

He's ALL fumbles and nothing is clean. But he's quick, hard, young, and coming off of consecutive injuries. There is an awful lot to work with.

Him ****ing up his disposal doesn't even phase me, we have blokes who are as fit as horses and with 5+ years more experienced who are less consistent. In terms of our overall issues, he is waaaay down the list.

Not convinced he should be playing AFL right at the minute, but his selection is a completely different story (and selection in general IS one of our biggest issues).

In amongst all the crap that was our team's performance last night, I saw for the first time, a glimmer of ability. I'm starting to come around*.

*he'll probably be dropped for the final now and replaced by young Robbie Nahas.

That handball. Urgh.
Horrible !
I didn't know not having confidence in his kicking after his injury would affect an easy handball.
And he has been doing that since he returned.
I'm not righting him off no way but needs a pre season to get some confidence and basic skills back.
