The problem I see in Hartlett is that he improves our depth not the top end, We have depth already if we add top end. Keep 10 thanks. Get Steel

Pick 21 for Hartlett doesn't come close.
It does if they can't afford his contact and need him gone, and if he nominates us. Then, Port are Powerless to stop it.

That's what we'd all love to know though.

Some saying HH is on the table to free up cap space

Others suggesting the cap isn't a huge issue but Port have seen they need to add youth to their list and are chasing a high draft pick.

If it's the latter, I'd prefer we stay away, but I'm happy to pay his contract if we can get him for a good deal.

Without a doubt it would be their cap. If they are paying HH 550k a year imagine what wingard grey ryder ect are getting.

All for Ralph having his opinion on Brown being worth Longer, not that many would agree with it. But what an absolute campaigner comment when he's an UR free agent. Looks like an absolute fool discussing something like that, which he could have worked out with a small amount of research.

Are we really talking about Brandon Ellis?

Seriously BOG average player, looked good a few years ago but has been horrible the last couple of seasons.
should only be used when talking about hartlett

You've got them the wrong way around. Hartlett would be our second best mid straight away. Steele would be fighting to make the side.

I'm having a sickie - bloody eye infection in my right eye & have blurred vision. Second time in the last month it's flared up since my 1yr old daughter scratched my cornea 4 weeks ago

Careless, medium impact, head high contact... 2 week suspension down to 1 with an early guilty plea.

Armos name just raised on Trade Radio.

Agreed that trading him while bringing Steele would be defeating the purpose.

Wont be happening
Totally disagree, one is 29 one is 20. That is the purpose. + we would be getting another player in the draft with the pick Armo would bring

This.
They jumped the gun by believing they had assembled a premiership winning 22 with depth after one season of deep September action, for what ever reason they've capitulated in the last two seasons.

As has been mentioned ITT they are seemingly attempting an 'under the radar' list reshuffle which will require them to,
a) - Sort out their obviously tight salary cap position
b) - Move on those not living up to their price tag for first round talent/picks

As Hartlett has been put on a seriously lucrative long term contract and has under performed since putting pen to paper on said contract, he is the obvious player to be moved on. I find it hard to believe that he won't command a first round pick, but as has been mentioned time and again if someone is willing to pay for his contract without trading a first round pick then Port's hands are some what tied financially.

They naturally want to kill two birds with one stone, but what's more important - fresh talent on lighter contracts or simply clearing their cap space for a slightly 'unders' offer?

Apparently wanted it because that's what Beams and Rich is on and felt he should be on the same
If thats the case, why should the AFL assist an obviously incompetently run football club.
That is appalling list management if true.
Whats more for Rockliff to be so deluded to think just because those campaigners are on over inflated coin, some other club would be as stupid as Brisbane to offer that
No wonder nobody did

They want something around 10. He's long term contract on a fair amount of cash.

He's worth something more 15-20 but they won't cop that.

If they want room in the cap and have to move him. The biggest thing is getting hartlett to commit to us. If that happens then more power to us. If we eat all his money. More power to us. He has talent so power back to them. Unfortunately for them it favors us. Pick 10 isn't there's unless more comes our way.

We don't need to take him they need to get rid of him. And if monies tight and we appear to be one of the few clubs to be able to house him. Then I say we hold the right cards without giving up too much....

If he is so good why is port playing him off the hbf and trying to offload him. Their own supporters don't rate him that great. I have my reservations and 10 is far more than he's worth. No one would give us a 1st round for Ross and that's about where I rate him. Absurd contract detracts his value even more

Seriously its like us having Armo and Ross on 800k. Ridiculous

Because Kenny is slowly morphing into Crazy Kenny.

We can agree that he's not worth #10.

If the Power need a salary dump then they need to be prepared to receive unders.

Throwing massive coin at Dixon and Ryder to get them to the club & to Boak, Hartlett, Wingard, etc to keep them there is straight outta the Grant Thomas salary cap management handbook.
