They can play together once our finals campaign is over. Prestia can keep his seat warm for him whilst he waits.too many quotes to go through one by one. mark stevens/matthew lloyd/age/trade radio saying caddy tigers bound for one of our picks in the 20's he wants to play with his mate prestia
Hamling wasn't a 1st rounder. The draft in '11 went 26 picks deep into the "first round" but we traded our 26 for 32 (Hamling) and 34 (Kersten). What is more pertinent is this perhaps:
2003. Tenace. BUST
2004 Traded in part for Ottens. BIG TICK
2005 Varcoe PASS MARK
2006 Selwood BIG TICK
2007 TAYLOR. BIG TICK
2008 Brown. BUST
2009 Menzel. BIG TICK (unlucky)
2010 Smedts. BUST (for us),
2011. Traded down 26 for Hamling and Kersten. BUST (for us)
2012. Thurlow. Promising but too early for forecast.
........ *Caddy for 1st round compo pick. PASS MARK
2013 Lang. Too early for forecast
2014. Cockatoo. Too early for forecast
2015. Traded in part for Dangerfield. BIG TICK.
2016. Traded for Henderson. BIG TICK.
This, to me, illustrates the overvaluing of draft picks, even first rounders. On the four occasions we've traded out genuine firsts (disregard '11 as 26 is end of 2nd round in reality), I've assessed we've come out with 3 Big Ticks and 1 pass mark. This represents a success ratio far above the 3 Busts, 1 pass mark, and 3 Big Ticks from 7 draft attempts. I actually quite like the Tuohy trade for this reason. We receive a known quantity, and still get back an attractive enough pick to try our luck in the draft. It's the best case scenario IMO. Drafting is an inexact science with lots of variables, and Wells often reaches with his first pick. Honestly, barring when we have a really premium pick (inside 10 say) I wish we could trade down our first for a known quantity every year, and look to hit the draft in the 20-50 range.

True. Wonder what Murdoch's on? Reckon it might be a fair bit more than people think.
Your source is an idiotMy source tells me Lonergan has requested $1.5 million for his last year of football.
Depends on how the trigger clause is written. Even if contracted players retire before their contract is up their money still counts in the cap even if they don't get paid it as otherwise it would make it to easy for teams to cheat free agency and the draft by offering ridiculously long contract terms knowing the player won't see it out just stop another team from matching.Surely not he isn't contracted next year. Triggered a clause yes, that would mean any monies owed would come in a brown paper bag...a thick brown paper bag!

i find this hard to believe but thanks for the input

if they were truly astute they would be aware we didnt have to give up ANYWHERE near what we did for any of them players.
Shhh Mr Blicavs, or I'll send you to the VFL where you belong.Your source is an idiot
That's sounds like a culture shift to me.........around about the same time Scott other on the clubMurdoch should be on no more than 200k.
Is this our problem? The young guys getting paid far more than they deserve and not rising to the levels their pay packet warrants?
It was never a problem when we were winning flags.
Your source is an idiot

Guess he's playing for another club then Giants? They pay in brown paper bags don't they?My source tells me Lonergan has requested $1.5 million for his last year of football.
My source"........LOLOLOLOL.Shhh Mr Blicavs, or I'll send you to the VFL where you belong.
It's conditional negativity. As in, if someone senior from geelong is looking at this they may realise they need to go knock down wells door and sort this out otherwise their may be a riot on their hands if things go the way being suggested....... Ofcourse the media could just be wrong. We just don't know yet.Seems like there's a lot of negativity towards Wells for stuff that hasn't yet happened. Lets wait and see what happens before we throw the toys out of the pram.
motlop is a 550, duncan is a backloaded contract and that was the issueTrue. Wonder what Murdoch's on? Reckon it might be a fair bit more than people think.
Mate cmon this is the same Wells that creamed the trade period last year. Give him some credit we will see.
There, I made you chuckle after a tenuous day of trading. My source"........LOLOLOLOL.
The only source you have is the one you have on sausages minnow
you paid pick 6 for Prestia who was a No9 selection in the same year Caddy was a Pick 7 in the same draft.Either way if a trade happens someones supporters will be pissed.
At pick 24 or 27 thats a steel for Caddy
At pick 15 thats a win for you guys.
Come tomorrow I wonder who will be slinging shit at their own club.
How did you enjoy the stat comparison?
Notice that Conca actually wins?
taylor and hawkins were backendedBartels wage may still have to count in the salary cap even though he is not playing. No one knows the answer to this. We also may of been stupid and back ended some of the big deals like Taylor's, Mackies or hawkins.
