Won't happen this time. He played in the prelim didn't he?? Will at least get all of 2017 off and most of 2018
Deliberately missing a drug test is only a 9-12 month ban. But with the AFL, he is probably only looking at 3 months. To be served in the offseason.

Gee that would be bit of a harsh whack if that happens.

Excellent article from Tim Lane with these last two paragraphs being particularly well worded :

The AFL bears an onerous burden in this case but not just in relation to Jobe Watson and the many who admire him. Modern sport is suffering a dangerous crisis of faith. Around the globe, the public has lately come to doubt the preparedness of many administrations to put integrity before self-interest.

Tests of such preparedness can take many forms. The AFL is standing under a high ball with a critical gallery watching closely. Its decision will be a statement not just on behalf of its direct constituency, but on behalf of Australian sport generally.

Would be too much to expect Watson would show some integrity and hand it back.

He could even continue to play the victim and claim he is doing even though he was unwittingly caught up in a rogue doping program run without his knowledge but for the continued faith in the system blah, blah, blah, history of the medal, blah, blah, blah, he feels compelled to give it back while still maintaining his innocence.

No one wins while he hangs onto it.

integrity from watson? with his bloodlines integrity has been breed out of his dna.

Great to see Yarran back at training today! Hope he can get back to his best despite playing for Richmond
wow i just checked out the photo of yaz. whilst he really is dead to me i worry for him. if its true he has been in training for three months and employed a personal trainer then by the look of his shape he is either still in trouble or he should ask couch for a refund.

The photo I saw of Couch he was in worse shape than Yarran. Out of shape PT's never fill me with great confidence.

I read that article and it broke my brain with its overly-cumbersome wordage. Did he actually come out and have an opinion one way or the other or did he just set up the stakes which we already know?

Reckon Tim watched one of those Matthew McConaughey legal movies last night and suddenly felt all lawyery.

Unfortunately, he can't come out and directly slag off Watson or the AFL so he has to put up some other facts and theories to soften the blow a little.

Depends what colour glasses u wear. Checked out the Yarran thread on the RFC board n they frothing over his most recent pics. As a past personal trainer, i would say he's gained about 7-10% body fat which would equate to a loss of 5-10kg's of muscle. As a professional athlete that is horrendous. If he makes an impact in 2017 I'll eat my hat. Quick google search of him wearing cfc colours will show u how bad of shape he is currently in. Is sad really.
