I certainly think the turnout, or lack thereof in the face of a Clinton vs Trump battle certainly gives rise to that. Remember, HRC did win the popular vote, it was the crumbling of the blue wall that got her. Would having had Sanders or preferably someone younger but signed off by Sanders on the ticket have changed that? Only a fraction of an increase in turnout in those states & Hillary shatters the glass ceiling.

When I say learn their lessons, I'm not necessarily saying move left, what I'm suggesting is Brexit, the Donald, to a lesser extent Hanson out here. The general message seems to be "You aren't listening to us". This is what I want to see change.

All the 'Trump voters are nazis & irredeemable' & reds under the bed shit they are going on about is completely ignoring the fact what the message seems to be. Hillary for example, has she actually taken any responsibility? Or continue to live in dream world of the Comely devil / Russian hacking bullshit, as opposed to "Well ok, we lost, let's get out there, talk to people and find out exactly why they didn't turnout"?

Yeah, but my point is that the lesson from Brexit, Trump and Hanson is right-wing. Protectionism isn't a through-line between those three - anti-immigration sentiment is. Yet people claim that Sanders would've done better? He would've been called a raving lefty relentlessly and would've only been anti-corporation, not anti-immigration. Remember Trump was about corporate tax cuts, as well as tax cuts for the rich.

So what is 'ignoring the message'? I think the message from this election is about flaws in the electoral system. You can say people voted for change with Obama and didn't think Clinton was that, but the idea of what that 'change' is, isn't clear at all. And the only consistent part - that desire for more jobs to go to locals, goes against economic theory that has been dominant, and largely successful in improving everyone's lot. The reason the US is different is because they don't redistribute income through taxation. Yet, Trump offered the opposite.

There isn't a logic to the Trump vote that is clear at all.

The Russians were involved, and so was ridiculous spin (more of a problem than fake news in my opinion). Those 'lessons' are legitimate.

Yes you're right. The report has not conclusively ended this debacle which leaves the question, "who then?". Good grief, the ways things are going right now, I say good on whoever did it. The world can't wait to see the back of the likes of Clinton and Obama who are in the pockets of multi billionaires like Soros. The real criminals are people like Soros who splash a few millions here and there to literally see the world burn.

Let's not forget the many "regime" changes orchestrated by the US in the name of "democracy". If the US is going to be holier than thou about this thing, they should at least add themselves to their sanctions list.

We'll if they are, the dems and Obama better start deleting videos off the internet of Obama rejecting claims of rigging before the election. And I'm pretty sure if I remember correctly, he denied any Russian involvement too.

So Russia is the only enemy of the US that is capable of doing this? The problem with cyber attacks is that those who do it have a 1% chance of being caught. That's after you have actual evidence from ISPs, and computer evidence. If this is a well organised hack by expert hackers, backed by a state, the chance diminishes to less then 1%. There is no way of tracing back to the culprits unless they have an ego trip and start bragging about it (most cases of how the very good hackers lose their anonymity, by their own stupidity).

Even if the Russians did it, and the FBI and DHS were witnessing the hack real time, there would be no way of capturing evidence clearly showing a Russian entity is behind that hack. It's all just speculation at that point. If these are hackers commissioned by Putin, he chose amateurs to do what a proficient 16 year old hacker could do with good equipment.

We've been at this point twice now in Obama's second term, I was surprised no one was talking nuclear war last year when NATO and the US were making aggressive moves near the Russian border. It only picked up (talk of war) when people were going hysterical after Trump won. Nothing has changed for a year and a half now, maybe people relaxed a bit at the start of this year. Most won't be as relaxed this new year though, while Obama is seeing how much he can ruin a country and even the world in 20 days.

This is a common misconception in the rush to put them onto an oppressed vs oppressed scenario to fit into a simplistic leftist view of the world, they seem helpless by the west. If they were so helpless they would do a deal but they have rarely negotiated and not really with any seriousness since clinton was around. We are supposed to feel guilt for the holocaust, this is the underlying thread... This perceived guilt clearly gives Israel preferential treatment regarding the way they address their foreign policy. It doesn't matter who the other side is.
I can't imagine on what grounds the international community accepts their hazy maybe/maybe not acknowledgement of their nuclear capability, and the issue of settlements is pretty clear cut legally.
The settlements would be outrageous if someone else was doing it... If there is disagreement it would be usual to defer building until it is sorted out... instead they make facts on the ground that just become part of Israel's claim that seem to just get bigger and bigger. So of course the other side are not happy.
Israel demands they acknowledge the Jewish homeland's legitimacy, and the Palestinians want the settling to stop. So who has the stronger claim?
To me it is obvious that they both need to do what the other wants. It won't happen any other way... Israel is attempting to deceive by stating the contrary.
This was on the cards anyway. America's abstention just clarified the common view. I made the point months ago that the majority of the Arab world is drawing closer to Israel in alliance against the more hostile Islamic states. America has left large parts of the ME hanging, so they find security this way... they don't all hate each others guts.
I'm presuming Obama had this planned... wasn't he under pressure to demilitarize? (Yeah he was.. and he has)...Can't have your cake and eat it. I wait eagerly to see what trump does... but if anything is to happen it will require bigly military commitment. Will this be popular? I doubt it. Is he just full of hot air? Maybe.

Despite my strong support for Trump, I disagree with his pro-Israel stance. I'm impressed that Obama finally had the temerity to address the issue of Israel's human rights violations in settlements. I'm not convinced that Hillary would've been any better than Trump on the issue of Palestine, as she's seemingly always been quite pro-Israel as well. I'm also ecstatic that New Zealand held off Netahayu and refused to kowtow to his pathetic threats.
