No, he won't.
Sunday will determine it (if he gets there).
A win here closes the gap to 2 and you can guarantee he's good enough to win at least one more French.

No, he won't.

The fact that he is still relevant at 35 in grand slams every year is what annoys people. And the fact that he receives way over the top cheerleading every time he steps out onto the court. Its beyond a joke really. Ive been hanging for a changing of the guard for ages it seems the general public arent interested in change at all. That tells me they dont watch much tennis and only know the famous players.
Channel 7 will be banking on it considering the ratings for this Australian Open last time I heard have been noticeably lower than previous years.Federer v Nadal (potentially) will be an absolute ratings juggernaut for Channel 7.
The record is a tick over 4 million people watching Hewitt v Safin in 2005. Sunday night might give that record a nudge!

It says a lot when Rafa and Federer are such good friends away from the game.
Thread went crazy long before he won
How many times do they have to show / talk about those three singing in the video.
Whereas Agassi and Sampras absolutely hated each other.
Agassi was always talking himself up and Pete hey quiet and won most of their matches.Whereas Agassi and Sampras absolutely hated each other.
fed was my favourite around 2008-2013. love the man love the playing style, being at the top every move is being analysed, but i think we can all agree that the media and fans especially at the games are too much

Want to ask you about the Joker being "shat" upon. I, for one, love his game.I did say that earlier on in the thread...
As for the supposed 'hyperbolic bullshit' - it's really not. Just in general, the most controversial thing Novak has said in the last 6 freaking years was his opinion re: equal pay (men & women). He was shat on the moment he opened his mouth. I can guarantee if Federer said that, there'd be at least 60% of tennis fans supporting his view. It's the fans and media that have turned Federer into some god that's immune from being hated. I for one cannot stand it. Federer is just doing this own thing/ playing along, like he'd care anyway.

By the media, fans and former players. Why? Because telling people what you really think is overrated, unless it's Rog-Want to ask you about the Joker being "shat" upon. I, for one, love his game.
One of the best players in the last 20 years, he has featured in more than 1 Oz advertising campaigns.

Yeah I read the opening week TV numbers were down (maybe due to the Big Bash cricket?). Sunday should be huge numbers. Channel 7 will have a full 48 hours to drum up the Federer v Nadal match up and capture the attention of the "non-tennis" viewer and get them to flick the telly on and have a look.Channel 7 will be banking on it considering the ratings for this Australian Open last time I heard have been noticeably lower than previous years.
Which is strange because this has been the best Australian Open for some time IMO.
I'm thinking 65% Fed v 35% Nadal? If it's Fed vs Nadal, what are everyone's thoughts on the crowd preference? Nadal has a good support base from the neutrals and I reckon the crowd will be like parents watching their two children play off.
