Yeah, absolute gun:rolleyes:. Geelong must be real upset he's gone.
Or not.

Smartest thing Nobes ever did, "look mate, we'll take that, we understand you need next year's first for Hendo, but you wouldn't happen to have an SA kid you're thinking of delisting that we could grab with 55 to throw into the deal? If you could get one of your blokes to talk him up a bit we'd be forever grateful."

Seriously though, he's looked ok at times over the last couple of preseasons. I'm somewhat surprised that he's regressed so much, I thought he'd at least improve to genuine depth. Perhaps he's tagging though, bit risky going off the stats, hopefully other commentators on him aren't just doing that.

The fact that the Cats gave him an extension in his first year probably means they had no thoughts of delisting him.

Only 2 Adelaide players with 20+ disposals. Not surprising that they got belted.
Crows SANFL last part of the 1st and 2nd quarters and a huge chunk of the last half have been the Issue all year. They drop off in intensity.
Which I suppose can be expected as Younger Kids and Top up make up half the team,
Be interesting when they play West Adelaide on the 20th with Keath and Cheney added to the team they will add a bit more defensive pressure and experience to the team.

Also, you forgot Murthy on 21. :), Looking like a good selection as one of the 2 Crows Selections. At this time he has to be on a List next year.

I hope it is ours.

I'm not sure where he is playing now but it might worth giving him a shot down back, apparently has some pace and can tackle well, it'd be nice to have another small defender.

I thought he had been for a bit to add some experience to our sanfl backline.

Really seems to have dropped off since coming from Geelong, either that or the VFL standard is no where near that of SANFL.

A lot more AFL listed players running around in the VFL than the SANFL. Crows and Port in the SANFL, Hawthorn (Box Hill Hawks), Collingwood (Collingwood VFL), Carlton (Northern Blues), Melbourne (Casey Demons), North Melbourne (Werribee), Western Bulldogs (Footscray), Richmond (Richmond VFL), Geelong (Geelong VFL), Essendon (Essendon VFL), St. Kilda (Sandringham). Stand Alone teams Port Melbourne, Coburg, North Ballarat, Williamstown.

Geelong's reserves side was shit that year and injury hit itself. There was always some doubt as to how meaningful that actually was. As MRB37 said, he was extended in 2015 during his initial 2 year draft contract, that probably carries more weight than his b&f result. Was really expecting a solid improvement after completing his 3rd preaseason. Wouldn't be surprised if we see him out with a 'groin TBD' next to his name. He simply can't be as bad as it looks like he is. Unless Geelong shat the bed by extending him like we did with Mackay.

What if Geelong extended his contract to make him look like a good prospect knowing they'd just trade him to us for overs

That's a bit too conspiratorial, even for me. But I do vaguely recall the Cats extending a lot of their rookies around that time. From memory, they needed to go very deep into the next draft and needed to hold onto as many guys with a preseason in them as possible. That's a vague recollection though.

Just Wiki'd an Cats took 4 in the draft, 59, 66 and the last 2 selections at 69 & 70. 4 of the last 12 picks and only 6 clubs bothered to select after their first pick. When Gore was extended in July, they'd have known where their early picks were going and that they'd be punting on rubbish. Perhaps the extension wasn't as meaningful as I thought given that if he walked for nothing they'd have had the last 3 selections in a draft that clearly crapped out early.

Monster forward line, surely we'll have to play Dear in defence of something?

It might not be the worst idea. He has great closing speed but lacks footy smarts - Himmelberg already looks more natural as a forward.
