You must have been looking for them, because Hawthorn supporters have been questioning the club as to why there have not been more updates on JOM."Weekly" was just hyperbole. But the updates through media statements and interviews have been quite frequent. I don't think I've ever seen the amount of updates for a minor injury issue as I have with JOM.
Are you talking about Ralph querying Clarkson after being asked to front the cameras and apologize to the umps?Do many players get their own half-time interview on national television during a game involving two unrelated teams just so they can tell the world "it's nothing serious"?
I think you might be taking those words too literal. As I understand it they're saying it's "new" from the original injury he had at trade time.Despite it occurring in the same knee — his right — the Hawks are adamant that the new injury is unrelated to the patella tendon injury that has plagued him since he ruptured the tendon in 2015 while at Gold Coast.
"It's a new issue, it's different to what we've had to deal with before with him".
We don't actually know the details of this "bone stress" or what exactly caused it, but being "genuinely frightening" is just more hyperbolesBen Stratton was close to a return this week from bone bruising after missing 4 games. As a 'crash and bash' inside mid, if JOM is going to miss 10+ weeks every time he gets a knee knock then that is genuinely frightening considering what Hawthorn paid for him.
Copy added in to a HUN article is not a defined return date.Really? HAWTHORN’S high-priced recruit Jaeger O’Meara has declared he will be fit to play after the club’s bye in three weeks... “I’m really confident that once I’ve done this little conditioning block that will give me a launching pad for the rest of the year and I should be sweet.”
I expected him to miss at least another 3-4 games from when Clarkson stated that he was having trouble loading up 100%. That final few percent and declaring full fitness is never easy.Hawthorn said they had him back to "90 to 95 percent of full function". How much longer do you think he would've been out if it wasn't for this setback?
Except that he played the preseason and first few rounds, so you're reaching a little.Concerning.
He might not play again at all this year. That is effectively 3 years in a row out of football during his prime development years.
He'll play when he plays, and it's not like we need to rush him back for finals.
