Betts, Walker, Jenkins, McGovern all combinded for a total of 2 goals

Geelong got smashed by Adelaide's midfield, which has been considered the weakest part of the Crows all season

If the forwards played like they had for the rest of the season, that game becomes 10 goal win

But that's just Geelongs defense. Can't just assume that the crows forward line will be better because Betts for one very rarely has a good game against the Cats.

In any case this is a weird pissing contest because at the end of the day Geelong won an easy one at Skilled, Adelaide won an easy one at their home ground. Not sure why any particular team is confident over the other. Hopefully both teams play off in the granny - that would be something!

Yep, for games that produced 22 and 21 point results, neither were close at all, with the losing side getting junk time goals at the end to make the scoreline look respectable.

A game on the MCG would be interesting as we would see whether the Geelong defensive structure holds up on a wider ground against the Crows and if the Crows have gotten over the Geelong hoodoo.

Think there's a few dynamics going on with some (not all certainly) of Crows and Cats supporters.
- Some Cats supporters just lost their recent domination of Adelaide and that probably worries them though they'd like to suggest otherwise by downplaying the win.
- Some Crows supporters are badly wanting to sink the boot in now it's finally happened and are getting a bit cocky as a result. I mean it was a great performance from where I sit but it was still a home game.
- Some people from both sides just have the biggest blinkers on for their respective sides and see only what they want to. People's own minds are often their worst enemy when it comes to objectively evaluating things.

IMO Geelong because Adelaide can't handle finals, I've seen Hawthorn play them in finals and watched their stars piss themselves too many times to have any confidence in them. Geelong has its own problems though so I'm not 100% on them winning it all. GWS don't have what it takes, but Sydney may have gotten their belief back.

Sydney will win it this year. Heeney looks primed to take this team places. Will be the best player in the comp in a couple of years.

Anyone other than Geelong please! Mind you, I'm sick of the Swans being up there as well. The AFL can't afford them to not be playing finals, so they will always have a great team, but they are in fine form and their big name players are all in form. Will be hard to stop if they make top 4 which is looking likely..

We have struggled in finals that's true but don't you think there's sometimes a process of building your way up to the big dance? Will be our 3rd year of finals so you'd hope the players have learned a thing or two about whats truly required. I mean a couple years back we just weren't good enough and were never going to upset Hawthorn at the MCG, especially with Campo as our coach I thought we did well just to make finals and oust the Dogs. Last year we lost to a very good Sydney side on their home deck who a week later belted Geelong by even more on the MCG. I agree we've flopped badly in the losses by not really ever giving it a shake which was disappointing but I don't know if that means we're doomed again because of it. I guess time will tell, plenty to play out in this season yet.

I think we match up really well against the Crows and didn't show our full book on Friday night. We're one of the rare few able to contain their forward line and we generally stifle their run from defence.

I'm more concerned with Melbourne, Richmond and Essendon like I said. No disrespect to Adelaide they're a good side but just don't concern me at not just the MCG, but any venue in a final. As good as they were on Friday we didn't tag Sloane and in the end he was the difference.

And we have a few important players to return.
