I'd be very surprised if any player manager advised a big client to nominate EFC.

Out of interest when was the last time a big fish nominated EFC to be traded to?

Was it Shotgun Williams?

Why do so few top line players nominate EFC to be traded to do you think?

Brendon Goddard and I think you will find Ess has now emerged as a very attractive destination.

But he's still doesn't have a contract!
McKenna can go wherever he likes but Stringer is still contracted so he can't go anywhere without our approval.

Come up with a trade offer considering its Essendon or any other club that has to satisfy us.

If he was uncontracted it would be a different story but it's not.

I'm not surprised at the club's position on Stringer and happy that the discussion has taken place and Stringer is aware if doesn't lift his commitment to the Dogs he will be traded. I'm good with this and the ball is in Stringer's court.

What I'm very uncomfortable with is the total lack of confidentially and the numerous leaks from the club. It is not a good sign for any business to allow this personal information to be leaked. Even if the Club intentionally did this IMO it reflects poorly on our management of issues.

I really like Cockatoo, would love him in the side (when fit) however he seems to have dodgy hamstrings. We have enough injury prone players to deal with as it is...

Considering this him plus Geelong's 2018 first rounder wouldn't be enough. I understand Stringer is injury prone himself but he's produced more than Cockatoo to date and is worth much more. Especially contracted.

But they're getting closer to the mark. I guess.

Still think when the dust settles, he'll stick around and sign a contract extension.

Not sure how true this is, someone would need to confirm it. Heard it been said that too much leeway was given to the playing group. The Leadership group knew about some minor behavioural issues that weren't properly dealt with early on. In the end those behavioural issues got out of hand and relationships broke down as a result of that.

I never thought it would get to this by what was mentioned to me though. Perhaps the exit interviews tipped things over the edge for some? Or it's just Barrett trying to beat up a story.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I could easily see it being manageable discord being beat up by a flog like Barrett. As people have said he doesn't make shit up but he certainly spins it.

No. Goddard was a FA so it wasn't a trade.

I'll be very surprised if any big fish nominates EFC to be traded to. Just rarely happens - even pre drug saga.

We all know why. Dodoro is just too big of a knob to deal with.

So I wouldn't be wasting too much time thinking about Stringer going to EFC. Highly unlikely IMO.

I expect we would offer a 2018 1st and 2017 2nd at a minimum. If its picks better than that you want we will find them ourselves or via a 3rd club for you.

Players are more difficult as we have a limited number who may want to leave.

Danger Joel Hawkins Duncan and Taylor are untouchable.
Tuohy Henderson Smith Scott Selwood and Stewart just got here and wont want to go.
Guthrie and Blicavs have been joined at the hip since primary school.
Menegola Cockatoo Parfitt Parsons have all re-signed in last few weeks and Bews is about to.
If you exclude the 0 gamers with no trade value i can really only see the following: (other than menzel and motlop who are free agents) Stanley Murdoch Thurlow Horlin Smith Lang and Ruggles as likely to be available and enticeable by offers from other clubs.
But stranger things have happened with player movement.

If it's the Blues second this year, I'd take that deal. Assuming you finish bottom half of the 8 next yr, that'd be equivalent to around pick 5 or 6.

Most seem to have personal issues or complications come to light at next club.
Maybe the issues run deeper than those on the outside know and understand more than likely not just a pure game based football decision

Josh Kennedy (Swans version), perhaps Tom Mitchell in the same boat.
