Lamb told AFL.com.au while he loved his time in the west and would love to stay, he's prepared to go anywhere in the AFL for another opportunity.

"The Eagles did mention that they could redraft me as a rookie, but there are no guarantees in this business," Lamb said.

Its just such poor journalism. Its like he thinks the Eagles won't even bother looking at interstate kids and draft all WA players.

So why did we keep him for 2018?

Looking at the list we have Kennedy, Darling, Waterman, Allen, McGovern, Lycett, Naitanui and Vardy as players who could play as tall forwards.

Last season we had all of the above plus Petrie and Lamb.

For ruck depth. We lost two rucks in Giles and Petrie.

IMO Hartung has streadily improved and for a feee hit as the 39th or 40th player on our list what is there to lose really?

Clarko doesnt rate him due to lack of physicality and tackling and that is understandable to a certain degree.
