I have no opinion on Leppitsch as a coach - as bad as he seems to have been at Brisbane he's a much revered figure at Richmond.

The point is, Brisbane have acted for years as if they never had a chance with the 'spineless go-home-five' and yet now we are hearing that they effectively walked him out.

According to On the Couch last night, apparently he would have stayed at Brisbane had they offered him a $250k contract at the time but Brisbane didn’t want to go higher than $225k.

Isn't Gary Lyon the source for that quote? I'm taking it with a grain of salt until someone credible verifies it.

Yep. They rated Dufield over him in a role and would be depth early on.

Depends how much eagles offer was. If it was 300 say, you would accept 250 to stay but at 225, becomes a call.

Always easier to judge in hindsight. Look at schache where they ended up paying! That didn’t work out well.

But J brown was a fan before he came to WC.

Essentially swapped pick 6 for Sheed and Yeo. Best trade we've ever done!
Yeo is worth a pick 1 now and Sheed wins Grand Finals.
