It's not for tiny screens, it's having the browser slightly smaller making browsing at work a little more discreet

For those with tiny screens, you can turn this side-bar nav off in your preferences.

I don't have a tiny screen, but couldn't stand that side-bar, so thanks for letting us know how to get rid of it.

Messing around with the size of the browser there are 3 different ways it implements itself.

This size, it will go to the top.



Make it a little bigger and you get this..

The style has been in transition for most of this year, that's true.

We're improving the site incrementally, using what resources we have.

Per the announcement at the top of the page for the last week or so, it has been retired.

We will now run on only one theme, not 3.

Later we may add sub-themes for darker tones etc.

To me it isn't much different. The Xenforo bones are the same.

Well yeah that solves the issue, but I don't really want to be stuck using narrow.

I've gotten used to the style, I find it a fair bit easier now with the side panel to navigate quicker through the board categories.
