So where does he fit into the following back 6?

Langdon, Dunn, Maynard
Howe Scharenberg, Crisp

He's not a better key position player, mark, kick or set up player than Dunn or Scharenberg. He's not a batter mark or set up player than Langdon or Howe. He's not a better running backman than Crisp or Maynard. He doesn't provide the grunt and kicking skills of Maynard.

He's a tall who often struggles 1 on 1 and can't mark well over his head, so he's an average KPD who can't be a mark and kick player. He is a jack of all trades, master of none. I love the bloke but to suggest he is guaranteed best 22 is nonsense. He is obviously not.

Dunn and Shaz are injured do how are they relevant?

Grundy a ‘late out’ with hamstring tightness? Um, yeah, nah. Where do you people get your ‘reliable’ sources?

He’s pretty active on Twitter tonight which would also suggest he’s good to go.

My goodness. 22 straight games and suddenly ‘hamstring tightness’ 3 days out from a game during a week off? Yeah, might want to change your ‘reliable’ source.

I dont know why Dunn and Scharenberg have been brought into a thread about this weeks selection.

Or why we are discussing Langdon.

The question is simple. Goldsack or Madgen. Arguments for both but I argue for Goldy.

Dunn and Shaz are injured do how are they relevant?

To clarify these posts.

I stated in an earlier post that I think Goldy is borderline best 22 with a full list and when he's match fit.

A poster responded by saying this was bullshit.

I therefore posted what I think is our best 6 and asked where Goldy fits into it.

We didnt have Moore and Treloar last time and lost Sier in the 2nd quater. These guys could easily change our dynamic and cause the Eagles big some headaches.

and Cox up Forward who was Replaced by Crocker:eek:

More required viewing this week sports fans:

The last one is a beauty. Contains unseen footage from anything Name A Game ever offered. Pre and Post match footage and interviews.

Enjoy!

Edit: MASSIVE LAWL. Youtube banned the Port game from being viewed for having "copyright issues". Yet, it can still be viewed? Stick that up your cloaca AFL. This is a win for all those who remember Bigpond video and the footage available from 2002-2009, that has been filed in some back room, and being held at ransom.

1990 QF. Brilliant. Watchedcthat furst quarter on loop as a kid back in the day. Man I miss the open field of Waverley. Some damn tough boys in that squad, ridiculously good contested marking all over the park. And boy did we get reamed for no holding the ball calls in that first quarter.

Have a feeling that if Treloar is ready to go then it will be a midfielder that misses out. We have Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Adams, Treloar (if plays), Greenwood (tagging), Phillips, Sier and Aish.
Throw in DeGoey and Thomas who can also spend time through the middle.

Of the names mentioned it would be out of Sier and Aish as to who would miss out for Treloar - personally I would keep Sier in.

Given the strength of WC forward line it makes sense to keep either Madgen/Oxley/Murphy in the side.

I think we replace two of them with Howe and Goldsack - who misses out is the question.

Treloar in for Aish
Howe in for Murphy
Goldsack in for Madgen/Oxley

Would start DeGoey in the middle and Treloar up forward.
Could imagine Grundy tapping down to DeGoey who bursts away at the first bounce. Get him Adams and Pendles in there early.

B - Langdon Goldsack Madgen/Oxley
HB - Maynard Howe Crisp
C - Phillips Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Treloar Mihochek WHE
F - Varcoe Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams DeGoey
INT - Greenwood Thomas Mayne Sier

Should Treloar get through today’s session it won’t be Sier that misses.

Going into a final the club won’t sacrifice a 10 contested possession and 6 tackle player ahead of outside types with variable impact like Mayne or Aish. They’ll want to dominate the contest and get the territorial advantage.

It’s Aish for me because I don’t believe he has the intensity of Mayne. It also looks likely that Oxley and Madgen make way for Howe and Goldsack. Should it be required I expect they’ll role Varcoe back as the 7th defender and Treloar spends more time forward.

No Treloar to two Treloars.
Pies by 10 goals!
