Would flip a coin and would not care which side it landed on. They are a huge upgrade in the ruck to pretty much all sides barring West Coast with a fit Nic Nat

The answer could be different depending on which team.
At Melbourne with Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw we’d prefer Gawn’s better Ruck service delivering the ball to them, and our weaker defence Gawn is a huge asset dropping back. So at Melbourne Gawn.
But other teams that don’t have as good clearance winning mids, Grundy’s ability to win his own ball and be a clearance winner he may be the better option.
Would of been fantastic to see them head to head in the Grand Final, if only

I'd take Gawn.
I like big Max and think he's top notch as a tap ruckman but seriously the finals are the yardstick . . . . 50+ taps and 20+ possessions . . . says it all for me.
Yes I'm biased but the stats aren't - great players step up when the blowtorch is on and Max hasn't - yet.

If I was starting a new AFL team Brodie Grundy is the first player I’d pick.
A 2 meter midfielder who is also a great ruckman would be gold for a new franchise.

Grundy has amazing skills especially for a bloke his size. These days it's important to have a ruckman that can function as an extra mid and Grundy is not just an athletic tall but skilled as well.

Grundy is a key reason behind our significant improvement this season. Almost like having an extra midfielder in the middle, like a 19th man.

No argument Tulip - different types of ruckman and we are blessed to witness two great young ruckmen this year.
