Recommitted Brad Crouch [RFA 2020]

I have heard B Crouch is definitely happening on $900k for 5 years. I dare say with all the exists at the Crows they are positioning themselves to target Lukosious/Rankine and or pick 1/2. Reckon some pick swaps and CEY will be involved.

You’re off to a great start, reporting CEY off to Brisbane :D

Are GC winning the spoon next year? If so, that's pick 1 you're getting. Brad for 2020 pick 1, mad not to do it.

If not traded this year, next year goes as a RFA, at best you'll get a pick after your first which could be in double figures.

Double figures? Didn’t you watch us after the bye, we’re in a bucketload of trouble.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there are significant strings attached to GC receiving Pick 1/2 as a priority pick. A significant part of which being they need to be bringing in A-Grade established talent.

Now whether this involves 1 or 2 Crouch’s or picks 1/2 I don’t know, but it wouldn’t surprise if they were given the extra pick and told they had to trade it, whilst also giving them “ambassadorships” to help entice players.

Draft picks are going to do SFA to help GC, they’ve had mountains of the things yet are worse off than when they started. Any rescue package needs to do a hell of a lot more!

That makes sense but I think the AFL would also be very happy for them to get 2 great mates at 1 and 2.

Crows fans need to get realistic, there's absolutely no way GC are parting with either top two pick unless they have lead in their water supply. The point of getting pick 2 is to recruit two top prospects who are good mates together to reduce the likelihood of them leaving. Trading either pick defeats the purpose unless it's for a Fyfe-level superstar.

If anyone watched the U17 all stars match yesterday, there were some seriously impressive SA boys, along with one, possibly two GC academy boys who could be top picks. So it makes a lot of sense for Gold Coast to trade their 2020 pick to avoid it being used for bid matching, and the Crows to acquire it to pick up another top SA kid. That might be a workable trade.
They are far more desperate to get quality players, especially strong inside mids , into their side. And for that they will have to pay the price the Crows ask, or try again next year.

I mentioned it about a week ago as I went to school with the Crouchs and have good friends who are still very good mates with them.

The 6 year $5,000,000 is 100% on the table from GC.
$830,000 a year to play for Gold Coast , What would he get to play for a victorian team $650k - $700k so roughly $90k difference after tax
Think he would prefer to come back to victoria with these amounts

Carlton / Essendon /North would probably match the GC offer

Don’t think anyone else would be offering 6 years, that would be the big thing.

With his injury history if you could lock in say 6/$5,000,000 guaranteed compared to say 4/$3,000,000 you’d be crazy not to have a good look at it.

I think with the GF in SA and no one outside of Richmond being a good thing for contending for premierships in Victoria, he’s either looking at it as a way to think stuff premierships, I’ll take the most guaranteed money I can get to be out of the limelight and live a relaxed lifestyle in GC or...doing it to bump up his value at Adelaide. They were saying on the radio today with CEY going and Greenwood likely along with others Adelaide now likely keeps Crouch with an offering around 5 years $5,000,000.

I highly doubt the deal gets up to that but if Adelaide are around the mark money wise and will offer him 5 years, he’ll stay.

Adelaide would be nuts to offer him that. Brad Crouch isn't close to a $million a year player. The Crows look like they are having a pretty big cleanout, doing this would be ridiculous and counter productive.

Agreed think it was the Mitch Cleary guy who has no idea.

The 6/$5,000,000 is on the table from GC definitely.

I highly doubt even if Adelaide has a mass exodus they'd offer more than say 5/$4,000,000 tbh.

I reckon they will take trade with bells on and go for one of the following three as the trade depending on GC

straight swap for Luko
Straight Swap for 1/2 this year
Straight swap for next years first likely to be # 1

Otherwise he goes as a RFA next year Adelaide wont deal

Haha none of that will happen.
It’s will be pick 14 this year.
Or Suns get him for nothing next year and the AFL screw the crows with the compo pick

YOu think the list manager at Adelaide wants to be sacked by taking a deal of pick 14 when he will likely get around pick 5 next year

I guess logic isnt your strong point, no different to Tim Kelly last year being contracted

We finished 11th and 12th for a reason

And it wasn't Brett Burton's fault

Our list is ordinary quite simple really

That's why I don't understand why there is even talk of losing either Crouch's.I'd be hanging onto both those guys like grim death. They are the engine room, they are the guys you do a rebuild around.

By all means get rid of fringe players like Jenkens and Ellis-Moleman, they are fringe players. But FFS fight hard to keep the Crouch's.

OUr list needs a rebuild, we wont be challenging for the next 4 years , Brad is 26 now, and there is only one brad crouch not two

If we trade for luko or pick 1 or 2 , what would be more beneficial

That would be absolutely moronic of the AFL. Putting in conditions like that devalues the pick because every club knows they can lowball Gold Coast since they must trade it. The entire point from Gold Coast's perspective is to get two top players who will reduce each other's go home factor, that's a benefit they can't get in most other circumstances.

Straight up BS. Every champion team had plenty of top talent. I suppose the pick 2 that got Trent Cochin to Richmond wasn't going to help them either? Or the pick 3 that got them Dusty?

Didnt help them at all until they could (ironically) pinch the top picks from Gold Coast.
Caddy/Prestia/Lynch.

Thats a really really bad example.

2-3 years if you keep the core.

This years pick 15 and next years mid first 10 should get it done.
problem is it is not pick 15 is it - it is now pick 16 and after Tom Green is bid on, it will be 17 - so a practically end of 1st / start of 2nd rounder which won't cut it. It will have to involve Lukosius as I imagine picks 1 & 2 will be off table. Or if not then maybe the pick 17 and the GC 2020 1st with maybe a crows 2020 3rd coming back
