Has it even been proven that 14 days quarantine is categorically enough? I wouldn't be surprised if he caught this in Ireland/overseas and it's taken a bit longer to manifest itself.

Combining about four different things together to whinge #VICBIAS and make Port look like the victim doesn’t change the fact that Ollie Wines knew the rules & didn’t follow them.

The amount of cases in Victoria has nothing to do with Wines incompetence
... but does Gil the Dill's incompetence of attempting to play most games in the state with more community infections than the rest of Australia combined.

Selfishness & stupidity is going to cost the AFL a motza.

If you where a betting man I think its safe to assume that the comp will be shutdown
If i was a betting man, i would be loading up on this happening.

1. No 14 day isolation
2. McKenna magically returning a negative result
3. Essendon and Melbourne rolling out wednesday night.
4. The double standard vic government on show for all to see after their tantrum today.

Yeah I tend to agree.
Most of the non returned traveller recent cases in Melbourne have been quarantine hotel security and households not following guidelines. I find it highly unlikely an AFL player, who have quite severe restrictions on their life, would have picked it up in the community.

We know it's less prevalent in Perth. Hopefully the next hub.
would you really let any players, staff, etc from Vic in at the moment though?

We're on the cusp of a 2nd wave. If anything, the Vic border needs closing to keep us in until we have 2 weeks of no cases.

I don’t think they necessarily said that though?

If everyone else is negative, which they currently are, than I don’t see why it wouldn’t be out of the question.
Current DHS requirement is anyone in “close contact” with a known positive are supposed to self quarantine for 14 days.

Have to lol at a competition that gave a 1 match ban for a footballer having an open air interview outside his house in a state with zero cases while refusing to play games outside Victoria which has active cases.

I must have been mistaken when I saw a game in Adelaide last weekend, and one in Brisbane, one in the Gold Coast maybe, one in Sydney?

the irony of clamping down on a rule to stop a player getting corona in a situation he can’t get it, in a state with no active cases by an administration that baulked at moving Vic teams out of Vic because the likelihood of getting it by community exposure in a state with active cases was low in their opinion.

if you can’t see the double standards your head is in the sand.

Rule are rules mate. Stop having a tantrum.
