even at our peak shitness we were mid-table in the equality payments, can’t remember our exact place but it was around 8-10th. The handouts thing was a myth perpetuated by campaigners that hated us and repeated by idiots. Like the time we got that 1 million to build something or pay something off that kickstarted a furore about handouts that turned out to just be an advance on our regular payment, a common occurrence.

the crows don’t make the AFL a tonne of money. Football broadcast rights and licensing makes the AFL a tonne of money. Could fold the crows and start up the Adelaide koalas a year later and be fine.

there was also no talk of moving us anywhere. North were made an offer to move. Any talk of us was purely spiteful drivel speculation from the lot across the roads media puppets.

As things stand right now, even if the AFL were to decree that the finals will be contested by the top 17 teams, the Crows still wouldn't make it.

Was having this conversation tonight whilst watching. The different treatment is amazing, each game we were in it was bagging out the lack of fitness, lack of cohesive game plan, just plain uncompetitive etc. Then it morphed into constant comments about our relevance in the AFL, not up to AFL standard maybe it's time to call it a failed experiment to Gary Lyon's crap about does anyone care. We weren't even the worst team of both years we were bottom ffs.

If this Crows team was playing in full games the loses by this stage in the season would have to be record making in numbers. The longer the quarters go for the more they'd have been ripped apart in red time this year which they have luckily avoided. They are historically shite and yet we cop a game where the commentators are barricking for them when they are playing some Primus level absymal game plan across half back. I dunno wtf that handball happy game plan is but it's great to watch as it falls apart.

Culture has shifted too. Us being shit was at the end of the ‘it’s cool and funny to be a bit nasty’, now it’s all good signs and well wishes. It’s like there’s still some hangover however with Port where it’s still cool to not compliment us, after all, we’re only a little club that belongs near the bottom these days.

I can’t think of any team that has not managed to beat the AFL cycle since 2012 to cop it as hard as we did. Melbourne, Freo, and St Kilda did a bit, but not to extremes. Gold Coast was more frustration than a desire to sink the boots in to a struggling club.

And, as stated already, we didn’t even win the spoon ffs!
