Has he shown enough to be picked up this year?
Had a couple of good highlights, but no.

Has he shown enough to be picked up this year?
You're asking the wrong people. We didn't even realise he was draft eligible apparently.Has he shown enough to be picked up this year?

No issue with those comments being made privately to a player as feedback, but a public statement like that is dreadful.fu** Sumich. Absolute tit and I'm stoked he's nowhere near our footy club.
No and I still don't understand how he suddenly became draft eligible. The WA footy media have always said he is a 2021 f/s prospect. Seems strange nobody ever picked up on it from past articles if it were wrong. Anyways it's 2020 - nothing makes much sense.Has he shown enough to be picked up this year?
If Walker and Western get bid where we have planned for by shifting points, to avoid a deficit in next year's second round draft pick. Then our 5th pick in the national draft is likely the last pick in the national draft 55ish
If our first rookie selection is approximately the 62nd pick overall (55ish in the national draft). Then we can still snag a potential Luke Ryan with 1 year and 80k less commitment.
I don't think this year's draft crop is any less quality than other recent drafts, just more speculative. The speculative nature makes the less-risky rookie option better
There’s definitely a lot of trust in our recruiting team for me. With late picks over the last 4 years we’ve gotten Ryan, Cox, Schultz, Switta, Duman, Frederick, Crowden. They’re all still young and could develop into serviceable footballers (I’m quite bullish on Crowden, at his best this year he was great and Switta last year added a lot of zip and tackling pressure to our forward line) or in the cases of Ryan and Cox, elite footballers. Our recruiting team is larger than most clubs too - so you'd think we'd be well placed in years that are more speculative. I expect us to pick up some gems
He's just cranky because his mwum made him eat a lot of thwings he didn't want to!Listening to sumich yesterday confirmed for me why he was never employed as a senior coach- he’s an absolute goose...
He lost me when he suggested we trade down to get DGB or Chapman - a position we have surplus numbers in.
A number of other things he said left me shaking my head but most of all, he struggles with basic communication skills - to call a hard working, emotionally invested 18yr kid a ‘sook’ on radio is case in point.

Look at the players we’ve taken earlier than expected in the past as well; Everyone thought we’d take LDU in 2017 and we grabbed Andy instead. Darcy was taken at 38 which was considered the very earliest of his draft range from memory
We’ve definitely had some busts (O’Reilly, North, Jones, Pina) but for the most part we’ve done incredibly well in recent times.
Hopefully this year they spring a few surprises that we look back on as great picks
Got a feeling he will be taken before our pick.Good article in today's West about Nathan O'Driscoll and his sister who plays for Freo AFWL team.
Both mad keen Freo fans. I am sold - sign Nathan up!
Sorry no link - read the paper at Dome. ( Yes - I like Dome )

Initially was thinking just have a main list of 36 and then don’t rookie draft any players. Then have 2 rookie spots and then invite 10 players to do a preseason. There’s definitely a lot of trust in our recruiting team for me. Maybe, we should give our recruiters another shot at a late pick.
Honestly if we are looking for someone in the foward line Reef MCINNES looks our best pick. He's tall at 193 cm, has strength, and his ceiling and speed is rated as elite.
Trust in the bell towerThe Pies would match our bid in a heartbeat.

My mum was the only Weagle fan in the family, I swear that she repented on her death bed.Only Docker, in an Eagles family.
Poor bastard, on that alone we should draft him for the emotional abuse the poor kid has had to endure
How’d you get Belly to read the last rites with his busy schedule? My mum was the only Weagle fan in the family, I swear that she repented on her death bed.
)Make them overpay and pick the next best available? The Pies would match our bid in a heartbeat.
Crickey...he kicks just like his old man. If he's even remotely close to his old man's kicking, he's worth a punt. That left peg was deadly.EAGLES PONDER LATE DRAFT LIFELINES

Cox was one of several Brisbane players delisted in late November — one month after he requested a trade back home to Western Australia for family reasons after playing just five AFL games in four seasons.

But 7 News Perth journalist Ryan Daniels on Friday night reported Cox remained “in the mix” for a rookie spot at the Eagles.
“No guarantees with list squeeze, but more likely than unlikely at this stage,” Daniels wrote on Twitter.
Several clubs, including WA-based Fremantle, have been keeping an eye this season on Waterman, who’s considered the best mature-age state league prospect.
A second crack at an AFL career looms for Waterman, the son of dual premiership Eagle Chris Waterman, spent two seasons on West Coast’s list, after his first stint with the Eagles was ruined by illness.

But after an outstanding 2020 WAFL campaign, which saw him kick 26.13 from 10 games, lead the league for average score involvements (6.1) and win Claremont’s best and fairest award, The Age reported West Coast could “take another punt” on Waterman.
West Coast’s first national draft selection is Pick 62. Should Waterman or Cox be overlooked at that selection, the Eagles could draft either of them as rookies via Thursday’s rookie draft or the pre-season supplemental selection period.
Takes one to know one. Sumich is the biggest sook of them all.
