You should probably do some more research prior to posting about other clubs mate! How would I know? I think he's tried to keep it as a gentleman's agreement re: heritage round over the years but he sounded tonight like this latest attempt by port is tipping them over the edge. But he was quite strong on saying Collingwood should litigate, tonight on FC. I'm just so bloody sick of hearing about it. And given port joined the AFL which Collingwood was already a huge part of, and port also wanted to distance themselves from the port magpies as much as possible at the time, and agreed to come in as a tricolour club, it should just stay as it is and never be brought the **** up again.

Do you actually realise that the Port Adelaide Football club won the 2nd SA AFL licence? As much as I despise Ed and enjoy watching him blow a gasket...the whole Port Power thing using the SANLF Port Adelaide Magpie jumper is a joke.
They’re two different entities.
Port Power AFL are not Port Adelaide Magpies.
Those prison bar jumpers with Power logo on them are a disgrace and an insult to the Collingwood FC ..who don’t forget are a VFL foundation club for Christ sake.
If I was Collingwood I’d take them to court and sue the absolute arse off them.
That’s good to know. So why in that case didn’t Collingwood change given they were the away side.
Eddie is a nob, this is such a non issue. Let us wear a jumper in the showdown. It doesn’t involve Collingwood.
So angry over something so small

But the SANFL Port Magpies and the AFL Port Power are two separate independent clubs, right?
Port Power AFL is not PA SANFL Magpies.
Just because you and your deranged fellow supporters say it is..doesn’t mean it’s true.

the AFL may own the trademarks but the tradition, the identity, the history, the love of the jumper.. thats owned by the club and its supporters.
The collingwood magpies were in the comp first. the port adelaide power came along 20 years ago and, when joining the comp, agreed to differentiate itself from Collingwood.
you cannot simply start winding that back without giving essentially the main stakeholders a say...
You’re projecting.
Imagine if Perth Demons Football Club (WAFL) with their red sash on black joined the AFL next year and wanted to wear the same jumper as Essendon on “ special “ occasions and also sell the jumper every week at the ground?
I recall Freo wearing a red and white v jumper once off around 15 years ago. Swans didn’t take too much issue.
Nobody gives a fu** if you're on board. You don't matter.
Either do you, but here you are
It's Mabo, the constitution, the vibe?
Everything that is 'owned' by the club and its supporters is similarly 'owned' by Port and their supporters. Port didn't fall out of the sky in 1997 no matter how many Crows fans want to believe it.
Port aren't stealing anything from Collingwood. They want to wear a jumper that is similar to the one Collingwood wear. So what? Gold Coast wear a royal blue jumper with gold trim. Do people confuse them for the Eagles? If Port were a Melbourne team Ed would probably be arguing that there is no jumper clash if the teams opposite coloured shorts... Does anyone other than Ed's army of morons look at the Port jumper with thin stripes and PAFC on it and think 'That's Collywood. Youse steal!'? Thin stripes with horizontal bar at nip height, all black back with white number panel... when did CFC do this?
When Port entered the comp Collingwood played home games at Victoria Park and finals at Waverley. I mean the AFL changed 100 years of tradition in 2013 so Collingwood wouldn't have the indignation of playing a final at Docklands and let Geelong host their Qualifying Final against Freo at Kardinia Park. But people forget about things like this...
When we joined in the 80s I'm pretty sure the rule was that if we played Hawthorn we had to wear blue because our gold jumper was deemed to clash with their existing uniform. They now wear a jumper with a V, pink stripes, power ranger costumes... times change. What they choose to wear home and away is their business. Does anyone watch a WC/Haw game and worry about some jumper clash clause from 1987?
IMO Port should just wear a prison bar guernsey with black, light grey stripes and a hint of teal on the cuffs. Sorry Ed, you don't own vertical stripes and you don't own grey or teal. You ruse!
Imagine if you knew what you were taking about.
But when Port Adelaide entered the AFL, the Port Magpies at that time were a different club, correct? That's what it says on your own website...
