You got the bear skin rug as well ;)

I seriously used to have an antique tiger skin rug with a mounted head and claws. My wife hated it when we got married and put in the attic, I went to get it out to sell it a few years later and all the hair had got eaten by moths. I was paid a fortune for it when I couldn't afford it. Went in the bin. Looked luxe as in front of the fire.

Hayden McLean.. get him in. Him and Marshall a perfect compo going forward

Is that the same McLean we had at Sandy? He reminded of Marshall, couldn't believe we didn't take him when we were crying out for a ruck.

Dunstan's problem is not his lack of skills. It is his decision making. You can get away with being a bad kick. You just need to swim between the flags and make safe choices. Time after time, particularly when kicking inside 50, he thinks he needs to go for the perfect hit up kick on a 45°, rather than just playing it safe and putting it in the air for King to have a run at.

Yeah sort of, McLean was a pre season supp pick for Sydney in 2019. He didn't set the world alight at Sandy, I know that much
Have no idea the timeline mate, just know I watched him at Sandy

By memory was behind Mitch Brown (who was a star at Sandy) and whoever was resting out of Marshall and Pierce. Was better than Pierce. But there are Auskick kids who were better then Pierce. For the young ones, Piece was the original Alabakis!

Again I could be wrong (the years blur together with lockdown), but think we rolled with Marshall instead as there are a lot of similarities. If so, great call in hindsight

Nah I reckon your on the money there

In years gone by, if Savage saw Dunstan with the ball outside 50 he'd bust a gut to get there for the quick give off.
Dunstan being aware of his shortcomings is part of it, the other players being aware of it and getting to him every time would help too.

I was about to post the same thing. His issue isn't his poor skills, if you watch him he can hit targets fine, his issue is he is a poor decision maker and at times he lacks game awareness eg when he got caught today.

Having said that he has improved enormously this year and if you could keep him on a relatively small contract I think you do it. He may get even better, he's come into the season probably without a role in the team or even a hope and when he came in he made us better and was a big part of our push to finals.

Brander seems like another Battle.
Personal opinion is Brander has more to his game than Battle. Would much rather Brander as I think his attributes translate better to AFL. Think he could replace Carlisle for us and pair well with Howard. But WTF do I know. I thought McKenzie was an atrocious list decision and Brandon White was AFL quality!

I haven't watched him that closely so I will take your word on his ability and the attributes he has.

I'm just wary of these players who seem to not have one set position because we dont need another tall added to the wing rotation.

he had an i50 late in the game today where someone (jones?) was free for the handball but decided to take the kick himself, hit the turf 5 metres in front of our forwards. He does it too much, wants to be the man but always falls short once he puts it on his boot. Real momentum killer

Dunstan's job is to win clearances and he can and most inside midfielders do , but what makes a good inside mid is the give it to a person in a good position and this is the area we lack.
Today he was back to going behind the mark and just stopping moment of play , he also was back to his awful kicking - 8 so called clangers in 20 possessions.
Anyway he has had a few good games this year but he is a liability at times just because of his disposal , but he also saved us this year as well with some good games.
I feel if he stays he will be depth which is not a situation for him to be in , but then again will Clark and Gresham or Bytel keep him out of the side - they have to get on the park to force him out.

I have said this previously
Would you want to play against Dunstan…? Probably yes, good chance you will get the ball back if he was playing for GC…better him than their other talent kicking it.
So he is no loss.
