Who apparently rates him?? I have yet to see any talk upd of him. Have you seen him play?

If you care to go the Draft Hub on the main board and type his name in you will find multiple draft watchers speaking about him. I've seen him play and posted about him in our draft thread also.

A few snippets
I’m not sure Goater or Chesser project as tall, big bodied mids. Mitch Knevitt probably is the main player to project as a genuine big inside body, followed by Matthew Johnson.

Goater and Erasmus potentially project as the athletic tall mid who can break away from congestion at pace.
I might not have any fancy graphics like some people, nor am I getting paid like others. But I'm back for another year. Bit later this year than normal, but I've been posting my rankings on the Fremantle board throughout the season. I've just been avoiding the investment of my own thread, and letting the other draft watchers do the hard yards over the past few months.

So there it is, my first official rankings for the year and some general musings to go along with it. I've been critical of others, so have it. Tell me why I'm wrong. And for the record, I stopped playing football when I was 14 due to a lack of talent. Although I still maintain I beat Bryce Gibbs in an U10's game once. I think it's what spurred him on to take his game to the next level.
Well the 7 Victorians in the 11-20 grouping are probably being held back by a lack of exposed form. Whereas guys like Wanganeen-Milera and Amiss have been able to climb ahead with performances. Sinn, Johnson, Draper and Hobbs could all have cracked the top group - and have at times during the year. It just didn't work out that way this time.

But I think Sonsie and Gibcus underperformed a touch when they actually made it onto the field this year. The talent and athleticism is there though, that's why they'll be first round picks. Not because of strong performances. Even without the lockdown, Sinn was struggling to get on the field consistently. As for Hobbs, I always tend to underrate the more inside midfielders. Excellent at what he does, but I've found others to be more influential. Draper has all the talent and potential, but is another who hasn't quite put it all together yet.

van Rooyen, Wilmot and Knevitt would be higher than most would have I imagine. They aren't likely to break into the top 10. Although van Rooyen could have if he actually played all season as a forward. And Goater is maybe a bit of a BigFooty favourite, he has his fans early but that'd be on a gut feel that he continues the trajectory he's hinted at this year.

I just dont think youll get any bites on our handful of sh*t picks to be honest.
given the even nature of the draft this year a pick in the 30's not going to be much worse than a pick in the teens, we can always do a deal in case dogs and pies need points should that be presented to us, that's why we should take as many mids and half-back flankers as possible hoping we may get two that go on.

I've got it. Can't Wells just pick out the next Harry Taylor from obscurity (maybe a bit bigger version of HT given the mutant gorillas that exist in 2022) with one of our picks in the 30s? Simples. No Talia. No throwing SDK to the wolves, I mean mutant gorillas.. Everyone happy now?

The only issue would be, has he been out of footy too long now.
Doubt he will leave his comfortable media job and I think he’s been out of the game for too long now . Plus if we start having too many Ex players as assistant it’s just repeating the cycle imo.

According to the Fox Footy team:

GEELONG CATS

Ideal trade scenario:
They demand a pick in the teens for Jordan Clark and get it from Fremantle, re-entering the first round, while the Magpies are willing to give up a future third-round pick for fringe tall Nathan Kreuger - and after a poor 2022 for the men in black and white, that ends up being a late-30s selection. The Cats even find a suitor for Charlie Constable in a clogged midfielder market, adding another pick in the late 30s/early 40s for a bloke with five games in two seasons to his name. The three departures open up just enough space for the Cats to launch a move for Port Adelaide’s Peter Ladhams, who wants greater opportunity in the ruck, and could solve their long-running issues at the position. Daniel Talia joins as a delisted free agent on the cheap and successfully replaces the retired Lachie Henderson.

Doomsday trade scenario: The Dockers hold firm on their low-ball offer for Clark, and with the defender-wingman unwilling to stay, the Cats relent and accept pick 27. They’re unable to work out a deal with the Magpies and Kreuger walks for free via the pre-season draft, while they can’t add any more picks to their arsenal, keeping them out of the Ladhams race.

Ruck option 😉

His contract was always going to bite them in the ass , I would be really wary of drafting him as he only wanted to play for Coll by all reports and I wonder if he would be professional enough to play at another club

and that contract …geez

If you're talking about looking ahead to 2023 during the 2022 season, then you'll need to remember that a few of the bolded names will be part of the 2023 team - even if some fans will disagree

Kolodjashnij re-signed for 3 years taking him through to 2024, so unless he looks for a trade, he'll be on our list in 2023 and playing plenty of senior football

It'll be the same for Menegola who is a lot better than he's given credit for, and unless injured he'll be a lock in the seniors for the next couple of seasons

Yep I think that is fair- I suppose what I am trying to say is that Geelong would be better of long term if all those in the team named without Kolo and menegola were getting regular football- I would love to see Geelong rotate players more

Im not sure if I was the first but I mentioned his name early in this thread. Probably before he picked up a bit of steam. For a player that might be around at the picks we might have, for a need on our list I think he a reasonable option. If we get an earlier pick , like R1, my think would be there are players who are more finished types, that perhaps offer more. As I heard recently said about Johnson, mids who are 192 offer something that cant be taught. I think Knevitts comine data would be interesting. I think I heard he has speed and stamina.

But I try not to focus too much on one single player..just too many variables that may prevent him being the able to be taken when its our call. What if Goater falls and is there at the same pick etc

God I hope not! Nothing against him but can’t quite get my head around the desire to continue to squeeze every drop out of the 07 list re: assistant coaches - love Kelly and think Taylor would be better then Ling-but let’s get some fresh ideas- if the podcast is anything to go by that is..

he would be very knowledgeable but the game has changed with the 6-6-6

Geez Matt Rendell is a dribbler. The garbage I see come out his segments on the socials is so far off the mark…..
Red flag when blokes who get given the arse get analysis roles, if they had any idea they'd still be in the role lol.

For such a good player SOS talks a horrendous amount of shit aswell.

Sides are better crendtialed to deal than us, the Dogs aren't going to totally get fed one in a transaction just for points, Richmond have a far stronger hand for instance.

Firstly, I don't mean to be racially insensitive to the 'gorilla' reference. I saw Leek Alleer play SANFL league this year for Central Districts and he's an absolute gun KPD. He's currently 196cm and 84kg so needs some time in the gym, but that's a good height.
