the way i view the ladhams situation is its like your neighbor has this quad bike he uses every now and then. you've also got quad bikes, you fave one is better but its got a few issues. so you're wondering if you should get a cheapie as a back up. you've seen the neighbours one just sit there pretty much unused and wonder if you can get it on the cheap and use it when ya old one packs it in. or when ya wanna beat it up on some rough tracks. so you bring up your issues with your quad bike in passing to the neighbour, see if he's interested in selling it.

meanwhile the neighbours wife wants to buy a new car, they're cash strapped so she's like why don't you sell it to the neighbour, so i can go get a new car.

the only problem is because the neighbour is cash strapped he needs a pretty damn high price for the quad bike. so when they tell you the asking price, you're just like meh! why in the fu** would anyone pay that much money for a shitty old quad bike just sitting there unused...

anways you know if you wait long enough, they'll sell other sh*t, buy the new car, he'll get sick of the quad bike and you'll end up buying it for even cheaper as it depreciates more. that or you'll flog it when they're asleep and blame it on the other neighbour he hates.... the crows supporter...

TL;DR; we are getting Ladhams for "free"... port will be pissed when they find out... but we'll blame it on adelaide.
Not to mention the fact that we've got our eye on that Rolls Royce down the road that looks suspiciously similar to the one already in our garage, and we know that if we invest in this quad bike but then go out and get the Rolls Royce next year, that quad bike will probably end up in sitting there unused while we take our two Rolls Royces out on the town.

Sharman could make anything work though. A bit like having the cheat codes on in a video game. Say someone sprays a kick in completely the wrong direction and Sharman just instinctively knows that someone like Ross is likely to do it and he’s already standing in that spot. It gets recorded as an effective disposal and goal assist. He might raise our disposal efficiency across the board all on his own

I heard someone saying how Geelong and St Kilda had set up those late noughties teams were built in a couple of drafts. Hawks got Mitchell and Hodge in draft and then over a couple of more found Buddy Roughy etc. Hopefully we do a bit of that against the flow.

With North happy to take offers for pick 1 it's to bad we signed billings because I reckon pick 9 and billings would have got it done.

No, they wouldn't even consider it, especially because he was a free agent, so if they had interest (don't think they did) North could have gotten him for free

Him having now re-signed makes this the time that could actually get done. Prior to having re-signed he could have gotten there through free agency. Won’t happen though obviously.

Every year teams say they’re open to offers for pick 1. But it almost never gets traded because it would take an outrageously good offer to get it done.

2001 - Hodge, Ladson, Mitchell, Campbell Brown
2004 - Roughy, Buddy, Lewis, Young

From 2 drafts, 8 starting 18 players in their 2008 flag

I think Dunstan should have been depth and the worst of any of the mids should be pushed out.

No matter how many times you say it though, it doesn’t change the facts -

It doesn’t appear to be our choice, whether you believe he should stay or not
His nose is out of joint because he believes that he is better than depth.
So it’s his choice to leave, because with us he probably would be playing at Sandy.

Which is where he belongs anyway

a reality check on the club as well. if noone else wants them ,why should we?

Well they are already on our list.
But it’s obviously why we are not rushing to re-sign or offer them anything substantial.
I meant it’s a reality check for the player to find out that they are not necessarily worth so much on the open market and that maybe they are overrating themselves.

We bid on him in his draft year so that initial interest was there.

Dal gave him a big wrap today.

I think there is some interest. We are only after this type of player that wont cost the world in either $$ or dps

Not many. Riewoldt and Goddard are about the only two.

King is the best No.4 ever selected....well since Bont.

It doesn't matter how many times others say we're better off with him delisted, we will need to find midfield cover. We are relying on hope not planning at the moment.

There's a guy by the name of Sam Walsh that goes alright
Yeah he’s obviously the best chance to be undisputed since Roo, but it’s way too early to call that one.

According to an article from 2-3 years back that I read recently “several clubs” rated Max the best player in that draft, and we started to see why, late in the season. He looks the best chance to give Sam a run for his money.
