Another setback for Fyfe.
Bacterial infection in the surgery.
I’m getting Joel hamling vibes already from this…

If the infection is in the joint itself he's ****ed.
The surgeons our club use must be cheap, they sure as * aren't good

Somehow managed to be sitting right next to Fyfe at the cricket yesterday. Looked really happy and relaxed.

Not sure if this is a big deal.
Intravenous antibiotics for the next 2-3 weeks and then review.

Garbage. They use the same surgeons, specialists and the other clubs use.
It is not uncommon to get infections after surgery.
If it's in the joint itself it's uncommon and the fault of the surgeon or assistants. If it's just a wound infection sure that can happen regularly, but that wouldn't typically need 3 weeks of intravenous antibiotics and rest.

Are we talking about the same guy who had an infection in his elbow after a bursa that had a similar need for post op treatment?
Can we have his blood checked to see how sweet it is?

Well , the family of chairs over. His friendship circle seem ridiculously blue collar and down to earth. They even got up to help a family who's gazebo broke and collapsed.

Very refreshing.
Yep, definitely sweet.

I'm only reading this thread, so not sure if more information elsewhere, but...

The original post was "another setback for Fyfe, bacterial infection in the surgery".

You then added "If the infection is in the joint itself he's f’ed." You also added "Intravenous antibiotics for the next 2-3 weeks and then review."

Are you getting this additional information from somewhere or are you just speculating, then criticising the surgeons or assistants based on that speculation?

Just curious...

If you don't understand the word educational isn't interchangeable with the word educated, I wouldn't be rushing to call someone simple
Actually, I used the correct word.

It's a common phrase, you can either blame and punish, or learn and improve, you can't do both.

I used the word educational in place of learn and improve, as it remains a word indicating a process, not a current state.

But how can we be using the wrong surgeons as a club, if we are only following other clubs using the same surgeons.

The available information (from Bell's statement) is he has an infection, he will have 2-3 weeks of antibiotics IV and rest, and they will make further assessment and provide an update after that.
If that doesn't sound like it raises the possibility of a septic arthritis, I don't know what to say. And if he has septic arthritis in a ball and socket joint, he probably ain't ever getting full function back.
Nothing to worry about though, our surgeon is tops. Despite the fact that his first operation failed and Fyfe had to have a redo, he's tops. Even if he's introduced infection into the joint, he's tops. Nothing to see here.

Probably not far away from retirement even if he makes a full recovery from this. He has been beaten and battered his whole career..😭
Really would like to see another captain anoited so the old bull can concentrate on the greener pastures in the forward line.
We have such a young team I can see them resonding to a.b.
