Not sure how many tickets are left on the Matt Johnson hype train. I reckon he bought a fair few himself.

No doubt. Most AFL players have tickets on themselves. I am sure if it's to an unhealthy level he will be humbled in the AFL environment.Sounds like a self assured kid, which I think is a good thing. As long as he has the work ethic to go with it he’ll be just fine. There really isn’t an obvious pick at 5(7) and if we land on him I’ll be happy.
I do feel like Ward is the safest bet at our first… if someone like Johnson or Sinn are still there in the mid to later first round, I have no doubt we’ll try and make the move up to grab them. 24 and a future second with a future 4th coming back might get a deal like that done.

Which means we take him before Freo, and then with Ward not keen on a move out of Vic and Richmond keen on Hobbs, Ward is still there at 10? Do we trade in and grab them both?No doubt. I personally don't think Johnson is there outside pick 8. Think he doesn't get through Freo. It's like a tall homegrown cerra for the same pick they lost cerra for... Makes too much sense.
Moves like a right-footed Dal Santo for mine, but stands up in the tackle better.Players are likened to Pendlebury every year in the draft, but this kid is the closest I’ve ever seen in the way he moves.

Hmmm. Any word on Freo being officially interested in Johnson ?No doubt. Most AFL players have tickets on themselves. I am sure if it's to an unhealthy level he will be humbled in the AFL environment.

Who TF knows but recent article suggests Sammy loves Johnson.HAWTHORN

After throwing up a myriad of possibilities during the trade period in an attempt to improve their draft hand the Hawks have a similar set of picks to their 2020 collection, albeit with one extra second rounder. They keep their cards close to their chest at the Hawks, although their keenness on Finn Callaghan has been well known for a while, but he will be gone before their pick with no club likely to trade a pick they hold inside the top 10. Josh Ward seems a logical choice, the Northern Knights midfielder able to play inside and out, run with the ball and use his left foot to good effect. His great-grandfather Alex Lee was a former Hawk too which is always an added bonus. However, sources suggested Matthew Johnson, the smooth midfielder from Western Australia, is also under consideration. Those two picks in the 20s could be packaged up to give the Hawks a selection further up the draft and one later in the draft if there are any buyers – and they will be in demand after the first night – but a smorgasbord of talent will remain at 21 and 24 with Blake Howes a chance to give the Hawks the outside run Isaac Smith once provided, while Tom Brown is also an attractive proposition. Tyler Sonsie is a talented midfielder but he might be available to the Hawks at their second and third picks and would be hard to overlook if that was the case.

Is Howes an outside runner as the article suggests? I thought people were talking about him as a 3rd Tall Forward option?HAWTHORN

That would be sad if package 2 second rounders for another first, for people wanting to get more of a look at talent, not less. The last sentence there just shows the amount of talent still available in 20s and 30s. Anyway there is no right way or wrong way, only focusing on top 10 and giving up your picks to get there is a lengthy way to the top. I would have thought if there are genuinely good players still available in teens or 20s was to trade down first pick. They are really extreme options. Perhaps no one like GC, Richmond has been willing to do a deal either.HAWTHORN

Be aware Howes is being heavily linked to GWS at 15.
Howes started the year as a forward flanker and played more wing as the year went on. He has the versatility to be both.Is Howes an outside runner as the article suggests? I thought people were talking about him as a 3rd Tall Forward option?
It’ll be a live trade so if we do make a trade back into the first round it’ll be for someone we feel is worth the move. That would be sad if package 2 second rounders for another first, for people wanting to get more of a look at talent, not less. seems like a pretty obvious attempt to convince other clubs they’re taking Callaghan, so that they offer them something massive for Pick 2.Be aware Howes is being heavily linked to GWS at 15.
Not a fan of Howes, I'm not too fussed if GWS take him, it might save us from taking him like when Adelaide took McAsey and Carl took Stocker or Sydney took Stephens/Campbell, all wins from my PoV.Be aware Howes is being heavily linked to GWS at 15.

Today's Herald Sun has Johnson at 20. If we are keeping first round, 5, Ward seems safest best. It is interesting that the Age said clubs reluctant to trade out of top 10, if there would be an enticing offer, trade down, would be interested to know type of players we could pick up instead of Ward. I wonder why we would not go for a local like Knevitt as opposed to Johnson with our pick in 20s. Anyway we are still in a great position with our 2 picks in 20s- players like Butler, Taylor, Knevitt, Bazzo, Clarke, most if not all would be available plus sliders.Johnson has speed, endurance, clean hands, composure with the ball and neat disposal. Impressive athlete confirmed with his elite testing for speed (2.98 seconds for 20 metres) and agility (8.06 seconds for AFL agility run). 192cm, a 6’4 mid.
I give up totally confused and don’t know who I’d take and have decided to leave it to the gods!
That would make the leak worse. what you want is some ADH.Maybe try a diuretic
