Sounds like a self assured kid, which I think is a good thing. As long as he has the work ethic to go with it he’ll be just fine. There really isn’t an obvious pick at 5(7) and if we land on him I’ll be happy.

I do feel like Ward is the safest bet at our first… if someone like Johnson or Sinn are still there in the mid to later first round, I have no doubt we’ll try and make the move up to grab them.

Which means we take him before Freo, and then with Ward not keen on a move out of Vic and Richmond keen on Hobbs, Ward is still there at 10? Do we trade in and grab them both?

Players are likened to Pendlebury every year in the draft, but this kid is the closest I’ve ever seen in the way he moves.

Moves like a right-footed Dal Santo for mine, but stands up in the tackle better.

Not a fan of Howes, I'm not too fussed if GWS take him, it might save us from taking him like when Adelaide took McAsey and Carl took Stocker or Sydney took Stephens/Campbell, all wins from my PoV.

Johnson has speed, endurance, clean hands, composure with the ball and neat disposal. Impressive athlete confirmed with his elite testing for speed (2.98 seconds for 20 metres) and agility (8.06 seconds for AFL agility run). 192cm, a 6’4 mid.

I give up totally confused and don’t know who I’d take and have decided to leave it to the gods!

Today's Herald Sun has Johnson at 20. If we are keeping first round, 5, Ward seems safest best. It is interesting that the Age said clubs reluctant to trade out of top 10, if there would be an enticing offer, trade down, would be interested to know type of players we could pick up instead of Ward. I wonder why we would not go for a local like Knevitt as opposed to Johnson with our pick in 20s. Anyway we are still in a great position with our 2 picks in 20s- players like Butler, Taylor, Knevitt, Bazzo, Clarke, most if not all would be available plus sliders.

Seems like it's down to 4 Andrew and rachele if they're there if not there is enough noise it will be Johnson or ward. I think we only go ward if we might view Johnson as a flight risk .
