We're definitely weak defensively but you'd probably expect that with the outs. Cal Brown clearly a step above this level, but can he have an impact in the seniors? Probably not sadly. Gotta find a way to get Poulter into the team.

Cal Brown has to be played in the midfield to have an impact.

Jetta - will be good for our VFL team

Kelly - defence, lost his opponent a couple of times, but not alone there

Bianco- consistency of position is good, but I was hopeful that he’d play mid at this level. If he’s to make it it won’t be as a small forward.

Wilson - moving ok as a high half forward. Liked his effort following up after a mark to chase/pressure 4 hawks

Harrison - solid lad

McMahon - hobbled to bench with a leg injury

I just don’t think there’s anyway in these conditions that we can win this game. They are far too big for us.

It’s causing a lot of panic and pressure on our young kids as they are fiddling around and turning it over.

It’s quarter time in the first game of the VFL season, chill a bit.

In time WHE will be phased out. But he was good yesterday. Ain’t any need yet to rush Poulter or anybody else in to force senior players out…. , we have already made massive steps in that direction.
