I reckon Tracs chances has slimmed, he can’t get in the HF line or Wing imo he’s no way near damaging enough. How can somebody average 30.6 disposals for only 0.9 goals so far this year in their prime is beyond me. This only leaves the centre line which isn’t looking likely atm or the bench.
31 disposals a game, leads the league in inside 50's, 2nd in score involvements, 12 contested possessions, and a goal a game. Surely...

I'm with you on this, I don't mind the HFF being a mid/fwd who goes onball but also spends time up forward and kicks a fair few goals, but a specialist role like the wing I don't like shoehorning someone in. Put an actual mid on the wing and they're not doing what a winger actually does.
I'm glad some one agrees with me. Wing positions are specialist positions now. Not every mid can do what wingers do.

This is one of the worst takes of all time.

Tracc is second in the league for score involvements (behind Tom Hawkins), which means he has the most score involvements out of any mid in the league.

Also, 30.6 disposals and 0.9 goals is a very impressive stat line for any player, albeit Tracc's goals should be higher as his shots for goal have been wasteful so far this year.

Agree it is getting more specialised but plenty of mids can do what wingers do. Walsh, Josh Kelly, Macrae, Merret, Andrew Brayshaw all have the skillset to be better wingers then almost all current specialist wingmen. Their teams just dont play them there much because they are more damaging in the middle.

Yeah it’s good but can they fit him in the Center this year. Looking pretty full, brayshaw, Cripps, Neale, Oliver and some others I’ve probably forgotten are looking good atm. Ive also heard in the media that they are actually going to select players who play in their respective positions this year. So yeah I think Trac’s chances has slimmed a little, not saying he can’t make it though.

If they take the positions seriously this year he may not. Is he one of the top best on ballers this year? he’s dropped of a bit in recent games, pretty sure Oliver would be ahead of him.

Kane Cornes has stated a preference for that but he is only one of 10 selectors. If wingers and forwards deserve selection they will get picked but if not and onballers are better I still expect some to end up on wings / flanks.

I know Charles Cameron is a great player but even he can’t play in two positions

Go to your AA 22's squads, get out a rubber and remove one of the HBF'ers

Then write in Angus Brayshaw

Juddernaut disagrees, so you're doing something right

Yeah it’s always easy to say, but hard to actually follow through with re positions, especially in todays game where we don’t really have a huge amount of full time wingers and we see a lot of mids rotate through the position along with the forward line

Guys like Bolton could make a case for a forward pocket, forward flank or even a mid
He doesn’t really specialise in any of the positions but plays fantastic in all roles so ultimately if he is selected in say the forward pocket he pushes someone out who may be generally speaking a better “small forward” in terms of positional criteria

Think callum wilkie has had an underrated season. He’s been awesome

Kept
cameron to one goal
Gunston goaless
Fritsch one goal
Toby Greene one goal

Do people think Dale didn't deserve AA last year? Trying to reconcile how he's even better this year yet not even in the conversation.

I don't necessarily think he's been better but he is in the conversation. I feel like there are others who've had a greater impact IMO.

He's down on score involvements & score launches so probably less impact in what actually results from his disposals, but I don't think that's his fault. It's more that our forwardline is not functioning like it was last year with bruce in the side. I still think he's having a better year.

Hard to see any Eagle making it given our year but without Jeremy McGovern it would be way way worse. He’s been great
