Is it time to introduce divisions in the AFL?

There will be no hiding for Koch & Ken in division 2.

I’ve posted somewhere the idea of 24 clubs in two divisions of 12. 🙂

Here:

Nah… Go wild, mate! 24 CLUBS!!

Split them in two divisions of 12, with promotion and relegation.

Tasmania, Canberra, NT - 1 (3)
NSW, SA - 2 (7)
WA, Qld - 3 (13)
Vic - 10 (23)

New clubs: Tas, ACT, NT, WA3, Qld3, 24th.
24th team: either SA3 or Vic11.

Bad teams would struggle in AFL-II, but they would play against weaker teams. With 6 teams making Finals, hope of promotion would be always present.

AFL would be present in all states and territories.

Victoria wouldn’t have the majority of clubs.
