By my count, freo have had more first round picks in history than Gold Coast. By about 2:1.

That’s despite dreading our first rounders for guys like hogan, when they could have had King.

No amount of arguing over concessions can paper over the amount of self inflicted gunshot wounds.
Ah yes the Hogan trade. So did that set back for another 5 years? Are Freo in the bottom 4?

How's the Tim Kelly trade working out for you?

Lol, remember you back in 2014/2015 making same mockery.

Then we breezed right past you to 2018 glory.

And yet you guys still behave like you won something.
Very easy to breeze past Freo when they were 0-10 and crippled with injuries in 2016.

Freo breezed past your mob this season. Why is that?

So many Freo fans up and about.

Amazing list management to not make the finals for 6 years and have Weller, Neale, Hill, Langdon, Cerra all ask to leave. Lobb is next, perhaps Logue - then who?

Call me old fashioned but I'm kind of glad we hung onto our better players when they were 23-26. They're old now and we're rubbish but we were good for a while and we'll be good again one day.
Ah yes this old chest nut.

So Weller , Langdon , Hill and Neale all left. They were all traded out from what I heard.

I'm sure Lachie Weller was traded for a future 4th rounder LoL

Hard to tell how many years it cost, but the cumulative effect of having so many players walk out the door has extended your rebuild by a number of seasons. We can say that Hogan has cost you a forward line though, and now that you’re finally a good enough side to play in a final or 2 after missing out for so long, its doubtful you’ve got the firepower up front to get you over the edge. Can’t get much more costly than that. Losing yet another player in Lobb is going to really hurt on that front too, especially now that he has finally earned his keep this year.

The Kelly trade hurt a lot less, we’ve ended up with a quality midfielder for the next 4 seasons or so, yeah we probably overpaid by 1 second rounder - it’s not like we gave away a Brownlow medallist for someone who’s kicking goals in another team. That’s a real doozy.

There was a large thread and a hashtag of #closertoaflag trending on the Freo board when they smacked us in the 2018 pre-season derby.

For obvious reasons it has been deleted and the hashtag quietly shelved.

Man, the celebrating after that preseason win was something to behold alright!

No doubt our list profile is one of the worse in the comp and we absolutely need to mail the next two drafts to see significant uprise to say we have no prospects is plain wrong

?? You guys are not going to win the premiership without a good forward. I know you are not aware, but this is what you need in finals. King would have been that. Different ballgame come finals mate, no matter how many games you win during the season.

So yes, that has set you back 5 years.

Not sure what Kelly has to do with it. We didn’t give up pick 6 for him! And is still performing better than hogan.

Top of the ladder 2015 mate. Top of the ladder. 2014 finished way above us.

Yeah took you 6 years to breeze past again. Just reminds me of 2014/2015 when your mob was all doom and gloom about us and how freo was on way up.

Keep your players first and then we will see if you breezed past. Looks like many still want to leave.

Calm down fella, it took you 8 seasons to breeze past us. That’s nothing to gloat about.
Wait ? What do you mean 8 seasons to breeze past your mob? Yeah your mob had your finals run from 2015-2020. You also had your fluke derby streak between 2015-21.

At the same period, Freo had to rebuild from 2016-21. Yeah it was 6 seasons of no finals.

Saying that. Freo would of made finals in any year from 2019-21 if it wasnt for injuries late in the 2nd half of each of those 3 seasons.

So Hogan cost Freo a forward line eh?

Also you said Freo doesn't have the fire power up front to get over that edge. Go look at freos wins this season, especially vs the demons at the MCG. That bloody 2nd half vs the demons was nothing short but impressive.

Rory Lobb wants to leave? Say if he does, any team that wants him, gotta pay overs.

He is contracted until 2023. So freo have the cards. I rather keep Lobb for 2023 for him to help Freo play finals again .

Also, say if freo trades out Lobb, still got Taberner, Tracy and Amiss.

This isn't freos 2012-15 finals side where freos kpf stocks were bare outside an aging Pavlich

There has been teams that have won premierships with weak Forward lines. Swans of 2005 was one.

Eagles in 2006 was another.

Swans in 2012 was another side too.

While we are at it...... Every team that won a flag from 2016 to 2020 won a flag with a weak Forward line.

None of those sides averaged 100 points a game in attack during the regular season. Ironic because that is what Ross Lyon sides at saints and Freo were faced with criticism for that reason.

Again..... Name all these players at freo that want to leave? Lobb? Maybe?

Logue? He is a WA boy. Why would he leave now when freo are almost on a finals position?

Logue heading to North Melbourne?

I already got a good feeling what's Infront of the dockers. They are good enough to make finals this year and next season.

Well what about this season?

Who's closer to the flag? Dockers or eagles?

Who's closer to the flag? Dockers or eagles?

The Dockers, clearly - they are the only one of the two to play finals this year.

But who cares? At the end of the season unless Freo win the 2022 flag the premiership count for both sides will not move and we do it all again next year.

That's a ridiculous take on things.
Just because a side concentrates on defense rather that attack, doesn't mean they have a weak forward line.

Even taking covid shortened quarters into account, it doesn't matter how many points you score if you can keep the opposition below yours.

Richmond had Lynch, Reiwoldt, Shai Bolton, Martin and Lambert.
Hardly a weak forward line.

WC had Kennedy, Darling, Le Cras, Ryan, and Rioli.

Your club could only dream of a forward line half as good.

Sorry mate, when Lobb leaves you guys at the end of the year an undersized Treacy, a skinny 20 year old and a busted up Taberner will be the worst forward line in the comp hands down. Blowing your beans on another ruck at the end of the season won’t help much either.

Ben King kicked 45 goals for a struggling Gold Coast side in only his 3rd season, no one at Fremantle has managed that since 2014. For a side looking at playing regular finals missing out on King might end up costing a lot more than you think.

Fluke derby streak, yeah right. This will be the first season you’ll finish above us in 8 years. I wouldn’t be bragging about it.
