Himmelburg moves in front of Thilthorpe off the back of a couple of great pre-season games. RT will have to bide his time in the reserves.

Rankine and Rachele need to work on their forward pressure acts, will be hard to unseat Murphy and McHenry who are outstanding on the training track.

Nah, keep it open. One of the highlights of trade week is watching some poor deluded soul wander in here with their 2 cents just to get eviscerated by Sanders/EC etc... or better yet, stuck in an endless circular argument with marty/ABAB/Brett.

You offer $4 mill over 5 years, you expect to pay at the trade table. Carlton for example target players with big contracts and are prepared to offer up high picks in good faith

AFL won't let it get done for unders, GC is their club, they are propping them up to make them successful, they won't cop us trying to low ball GC. AFL can control everything behind the scenes. They have the PP situation over Norf who will do their bidding if told. If we tried to pull the PSD threat in negotiations, you can guarantee years of s**t draws and s**t timeslots from the AFL, a sinister organisation who hold grudges and we aren't part of their boys club.

We've attracted Rankine, it's now on us to get the deal done quickly in good faith.

And even though we know we need a mid - of Rankine was in this draft we would take him in a second with pick 5
We also have the benefit of him having already done his apprenticeship - ready to completely break out

Pick 5 seems overs for what he had done so far in his short career, so we would trading with GCS on his potential.

Out of contract players always get less, I'd be OK for pick 5 with the Suns second coming back our way.

Or even better hold onto pick 5 and somehow trade in about a pick 12 = same as we got for Charlie who was still in contract.

Sorry but when we traded them Jarryd Lyon, they had 3 picks in the 20s but gave us pick 43. The real annoying part of that was they then left that draft after using pick 10. We ended up taking Himmelberg with the Lyon pick, if they had given us that pick in the 20s they had no intention of using we could have got Shai Bolton...Brandon Parfitt, Lapinski, Sean Darcy (even though he is a fatty), Tom Stewart or Brennan Cox.

So yeah, it was a while ago sure but I can't think of one trade where they have been anything but Dodoro like with us, so yeah, I'd love us to pineapple the buggers

if they have excessive demands after trying good faith negotiations just structure up contract and pay him 2m in year one. We should have that flexibility and almost impossible to imagine any other team seriously contemplating taking him in the PSD on that coin salary cap wise and assuming IR refuses to even talk to them. No club besides AFC possibly blows up 2m in this situation and picks him PSD
