Would be nice to see him turn up for the first three quarters.

Yeah after sleeping on it maybe we have to. Gawn is one he's had a history of playing alright on though, and in that scenario I still think sending Ceglar to out-tap Gawn is a bit of a waste of an on-field position because I don't think he'll be successful there or elsewhere. Rhys you risk him going into his shell again, but there's also a risk Stanley pulls out a great performance. I don't think there's a risk of Ceglar being effective against Gawn, and he's a liability away from hut outs even on a good game.So do we make a change in case he has another bad one against gawn?
The days of captain coaches are gone so how's it done now?I don’t believe in judging effort/intensity from the stands. That’s full nuffy stuff.

As soon as I heard that chant I was more confident. It reminded me of 2011 when they went early.Death, taxes, the “Colllllllliiiiiiiiinggggwoooooooood” chant ending badly for the Pies and Vdubs overrating the opposition.
Need to see the matchups but Parfitt just has to come in. Miers possibly vulnerable too.
Thing I like about Zuthrie is he’s always Kick first mentality, buys us so much time, yesterday a 16-1 kick to handball ratio, I’d rather that than a bunch of meaningless handballs selling teammates into trouble in the defensive 50.IMO Zuthrie seems to have licence to play a peel off, sweeping role and really relishing it. This has the additional benefit as opposition are focused on making our key defensive sweeper Stewart much more accountable, taking him out of the play.
I’m a little surprised that opposition haven’t tried to isolate Zuthrie deep forward because I think his light frame could be exploited but in all other facets Zach has all the attributes. Great story of belief and confidence by the player and club. Big contract increase I suspect!

So I don't know. Maybe you risk him again, maybe you don't
Not with his 6 score involvements in such a low scoring game - not to mention his key part in our 4-man forward defence set-up, which was crucial all day in pushing Collingwood to the flanks.Miers was ok but is vulnerable.
Parfitt has to come in to defend melbournes stoppage threat. Potentially menegola too.
Id drop kolo even if he is fit to play (which he probably wont be).
Stanley vs ceglar is the one im not sure on.
Thought Miers was very average tonight, but so too were Stengle and Close (granted he kicked two crucial goals).Miers was ok but is vulnerable.

Ceglar = In, >>>> Geelong = Out.Its a tough one. Ceglar is better at hitouts but rhys gives us much better ground coverage and against gawn and his intercept marking that could really help. You have nailed my worry rhys starts to drop his head when he makes early mistakes and if he does gawn will sense that and start steamrolling him..ceglar throws his weight around much more so i sense is less likely to disintegrate in that manner but doesnt have the same upside that stanley at his best does. But honestly if we neutralise gawn oliver and may i back us against the rest of their side side easily so picking ceglar to neutralise gawn rather than risking stanley could be the right call.
Do you need him?Rohan was smokin hot! Can we have him back please?
Yeah, I just don't think Ceglar is going to neutralize gawn so I think we do whatever we have to do to get angry Rhys backIts a tough one. He also had 0 tackles for the match. Which is quite telling considering the contested nature of the game, and close/Stengle each having 6 tackles. I get the score involvements, but I think at this point Parfitt or Menegola would provide the score involvements as well as tackles. Not with his 6 score involvements in such a low scoring game - not to mention his key part in our 4-man forward defence set-up, which was crucial all day in pushing Collingwood to the flanks.
Would be nice if he got decent ruck service tooWould be nice to see him turn up for the first three quarters.
Won’t happen. Cegler hasn’t got the tank. He would be completely gassed 15 minutes in against Gawn.Ceglar = In, >>>> Geelong = Out.

Stanley has always played based on the output of his opponent. So do we make a change in case he has another bad one against gawn?
Wtf.Would be nice to see him turn up for the first three quarters.
A thousand times this. GO CATS!I wouldn't. Stanley was almost typically disappointing but our best footy is played with him playing well. Risk losing but dare to win by playing. Cegs has been okay and you'll get a competitive game out of him but it's a defensive move to go with him. If we want to win it all Stanley needs to play and play well.
Hopefully today was his steadier and he'll bounce back from here.
