Potentially, I can see the advantage of already having played them in the finals.

Just feel if the Pies are slightly off then Geelong could really open them up.
They haven't played Sydney since early in the year the Buddy 1000th goal game. Alot has changed since than but I feel Sydney is the best equipped to beat Geelong as they are well balanced across the ground and don't rely on their talls to win them the game. They have some of the better mid sized/smalls in the game like Heeney and Papley and Haywood has gone up a level this year as well. Their midfield is at least on a par with Geelong as well IMO. Warner, Mills and Co. Geelong would know it's certainly not going to be easy either way. Both teams left are more than capable.

Agreed, we really were spoiled in the 90s early 2000s with prime Bruce and Sandy, even committi who I always found overated shits all over the current mob. The newcomer Jason Bennett is probably the best of the lot of them
Drew Morphett, Peter Landy, Ian Robertson etc

Were brilliant and let the game/crowd entertain you

If we judge by the numbers of fans leaving the ground in the 3rd Q, no one was watching on telly anyway (bar cats fans!)
Brisbane beat themselves playing that stupid boundary line game kick out ball kicked back again beaten in the air

no risks taken with the down centre attack
which is the closest way to goal

Pathetic bad playing.
Chris Fagan changed nothing from the boundary!

Gave up!

I almost feel like apologising for my teams performance tonight.

Total letdown for the neutrals and Lions fans. Cats far too good and deserve all the plaudits.

I hope we can bounce back 🫠

Bennett doesn't really count as a newcomber, was on Fox Footy back in the 2000's.

I think Collingwood are primed and ready , I feel Geelong beat a done over team that had no structure at all, and Geelong can be hammered if they are winning the air, Collingwood will kill that! Brisbane just kicked to a team mate with two cats 0n him, or gave off hospital handball's that murdered team mates.
Swans are very hard and bad if they get over Collingwood Geelong will need everything but much more than they had tonight against nobody really

Brisbane are going to need counselling after that performance.
Not even a whimper.
Those losses can scar a team.
Cats lost in the Prelim last year by 86 points and responded this season.

Guess time will tell how the Lions respond next year.

Doesn't mean they can't win .
But it won't be anything like tonight.
This is the last shot for a while for Geelong.
So if they make it, they can be a 4 time premiership team like the mighty Hawks are for 22 years of the 21st century
Then it's sleep tight for a few years .
