Absolute utensil head. Deserted us when we really need him. I don’t want him near our club, ever.
I agree that the manner in which he left the club was less than optimal. However, I think the "when we really needed him" comment conveniently overlooks the way that your man Bards absolutely destroyed his confidence by playing him in a different role virtually every second week. If he stayed at North, he would've plodded out his career like so many of our other players whose careers got Scottsed.

Do I think he's more than a bit of a tool? Yes. Will I think he's less of a tool if he contributes to us jagging number five and beyond? F*** and yeah.

I can't remember why this is a thing...any further hints to jog my memory? I imagine it will then shine light on why some aren't so thrilled.
He missed a number of games due to a head knock that was allegedly a result of "slipping and falling in the bathroom".

Strong whispers at the time that it was more likely this in fact happened in the loungeroom due to 'Persian Rugs' being (allegedly) involved.

I think you're remembering it all a little bit wrong. Josh Gibson left at the end of 2009. Brad Scott coached us from 2010. There was a crossover with Scotts trying to convince Gibson to stay but he had clearly checked out mentally and Clarko had made him feel a lot more wanted.

Fair play. It's on Laidley then.

Hawks offered him far more cash than we did, so he was on his way.

That's where it's not clear cut though. Gibson actually sought Laidley's counsel when debating the move.

Have some memory of Anthony Rock trying to get Gibson into the midfield and Clarkson offered him the chance to join a strong team playing his preferred position.

I hated him for leaving. But I’d settle for Lucifer on a wing if it helped us win again. So if he can help, bring it on.

As did I.

But I was open to Demetrio becoming our CEO if it was the best thing for the club then I'll have to suck up Josh Gibson being back.

People losing their s**t over something that happened 14 years ago. Get a grip and give him a 2nd chance.
A 3 time premiership backman working with Logue, Corr and Mckay. Your welcome.

I agree. But I also think fair play, happy for Gibson to cop some friendly banter for the lols.

Three-time flag star added to stellar coaching panel

Josh Gibson is the final addition to North Melbourne's 2023 coaching panel and will support assistant coach John Blakey in the role of specialist coach of defence.

Shinboner No.921 Gibson played 65 games in four years for the Kangaroos before he switched stripes to join Hawthorn at the end of 2009. He featured 160 times for the Hawks from 2010 to 2017 under now North Melbourne senior coach Alastair Clarkson.

Playing primarily as a key defender, Gibson was a crucial part of Hawthorn's three Grand Final victories across 2013-2015, underlined by his two Best and Fairest wins in 2013 and 2015.

Gibson will not only reunite with Clarkson, but with fellow three-time flag winner Liam Shiels and versatile 96-gamer Daniel Howe, who all shared time at the Hawks.

Over the past month, the Kangaroos have also welcomed to the coaching ranks development coach Emma Kearney, and part-time assistant coaches Brett Ratten and Damian Monkhorst.

They each bring their own wealth of experience to the existing panel, which includes Clarkson, Blakey, Gavin Brown, Brent Harvey, Leigh Adams, Jordan Russell and Tom Lynch.

Former Port Adelaide and St Kilda player Jarrod Lienert will fulfil a role as part-time assistant coach and player role under Lynch in the VFL program. The recently delisted mature-aged defender managed 34 games across his six-year career in the AFL.

North Melbourne's coaching panel is now one of the league's most decorated with over 2,250 games of cumulative playing experience with multiple premierships won as players, coaches and assistant coaches across all levels of football.

Former Melbourne great and experienced assistant coach and administrator Todd Viney (general manager of football), Brady Rawlings (head of football talent), Daniel Cross (reconditioning coach) and Scott Clayton (national talent scout) round out the extraordinary wealth of AFL playing experience in the football department heading into 2023.

He 100% needs to cop some banter. There is plenty f material there to work with too.
Exactly.

He shouldn't feel too bad, we all slip up from time to time.
