I’d actually rather keep him then lose him, that’s not the point I’m making. He was playing a lot more midfield last year then this year.. My point is you saying he’s been bad because of the game plan is just flat out wrong..

I reckon he looks absolutely lost with what's expected of him. Goes when he should stay, tries to hit up teammates when he should have a shot, leaves his man early but chooses the wrong option etc. He looks like a player who is best on instinct but being trained to play accountable. What ever it is he's a shadow of what he was before. He's gone from a match-winning line-breaker to a match killing heartbreaker.

Coffield is a perfect candidate to play on the wing.

As we’re all aware, perhaps with the exception of previous list management teams, the wing is a special place at Marvel.

You need to be able to compete both in the air and on the ground, run hard to provide an outnumber both ways, be part of link up chains, be a marking option down the line. You also need to be able to hit a jumper.

This criteria is different from all other grounds because of the dimensions. Running, weaker players get chewed up with the extra pressure around the ball carrier. See Hill and Byrnes and anyone else we’ve dropped on our wing except for the 2 guys that have fit the bill so far in Wood and McKenzie.

That is the dream wing scenario but we need someone to come up behind them. I think Coffield could be that guy.

TBH once coffield is fit and ready for the senior level, i'd return him to the backline but look at having him replace Clark's role this year, if he has in fact been getting run through the backline. but you'd need an offseason to get that working.

can anyone comment on what coffield was like before injury vaguelly recall track watches stating he was intercepting quite a bit and really driving the attack from the backline

I'd be livid if we moved Coffield on

Really hoping Gresh is gone. He's not a midfielder, and with Butler and Higgins we don't need him up forward.

I'd like to keep both Clark and Billings but it wouldn't surprise me if both are gone.
Buy an old danelectro with a ****ed neck. Good for filthy/blues/slide/distortion. o_O

Because: all of those things will be true still at the if 24 plus this is probably true as well: Dow (not good enough).

It costs a list spot. We could have thrown some spud on in the summer and there would be no Caminiti.
I don't think you get it... We are clearly spread very thin in the midfield as is and we will be losing at least 2-3 of Bytel/Jones/Seb come years end.

You can't just replace them all with draftees as we will have no back up for the midfield again! You saw what happened earlier in the year when Steele went down and Jones was already injured.

I along with most here want us to just hit the draft and bring in as many young quality mids as possible, but you also need to recruit backups and mature, experienced bodies to help.

He might be the Lucky Starr of the competition…….

(V old reference to a 60’s pop star and his song: “I’ve been everywhere”. You’re more than excused for missing the joke. Not many left alive to get it.)
That would be our Luck Day

Turns 30 on Thursday, has played 22 games in 3 years

We get the scraps no-one else wants. He probably hasn't saved any money so we need to pay him $900pa over 6 years and pay up 2x first rounders and Owens for him.
